My name is Bob. I've been self employed in the construction and maintenace trades for 39 yrs. Started off with a carpet cleaning business in 1972. From that point on everytime I saw someone working on a property I would say to myself. I can do that. Then I would add that to my services. I've owned a retail outlet called Bow Interiors. We offered just about anything you can imagine with respect to interior products. Was such a fanatic about intallation of these products that I tried to do as much of the inst. as possible. This ultimately led to burn out. Sold Real Estate for 3 years and decided the hours were not much better and there was too much paperwork. Got back into the trades because at the end of each day you could tell that I had been there and something good had been accomplished. Using my Real Estate experience I started doing fix and flips. This lasted till about 4 years ago when the market started to dry up and financing became more difficult. My specialty was to take old houses (really old houses) and make them beautiful. This involved all the skills that I had acquired over the years and allowed me complete creative contoll. It was very satisfying and rewarding. These days as I approach retirement I'm just looking to stay busy till that time and enjoy fixing things. Have lots of creative ideas and need a outlet. Sometimes due to physical limitations or business volume I use helpers. Winters are slow and I'm looking for ways to stay busy so I'm giving Angies list a try. I can give you business recomedations if needed. Most of my clients are property managers or investors. These people are available for comment during business hours and are happy to comply.
