Boulder Roofing was top-notch. I carefully evaluated several roofers and they were by far the most responsive and professional. I had a lot of questions and wanted to be sure of what I was getting. All my questions were promptly addressed. They provided me with a page of references, and I ended up talking with 3 very happy customers. They told me they were happy with the owner, Clay Hawking, the crew and the clean-up. They told me the prices were fair and reasonable, the work was on-time and the attention to clean-up was excellent. I hadn't thought about the clean-up until talking with references but I learned that some had had terrible experiences in the past with other roofers leaving stray nails that caused either personal injury or damaged tires. Well, I experienced every one of the positive qualities shared with me. Working with Clay was great. He helped me with everything I needed. The job was done on schedule. The crew was great. The clean-up was impeccable. The city inspector praised their workmanship and said he never had a problem with Boulder Roofing. I had carefully compared bids, and the price was fair and reasonable for all that I got and the quality of work. Thank you Boulder Roofing!
Description of Work: After a storm in February 2012, shingles were missing from our roof. The roof had both wind and hail damage. We had a complete roof replacement, new flashing and ice shield installed. We chose Owens Corning Weatherguard HP shingles, a class 4 grade shingle. An annual discount is now applied to our home owners insurance for having a class 4 roof. Complete Re-Roof (house and garage) -Removed the dish antenna and set aside, re-installed upon completion. -Removed all existing shingles and hauled away all debris, gutters removed by others prior to roofing. -Installed new 2”x3” 26 ga galvanized drip edge flashing on all eave (gutter) edges. -Installed Tamko Moistureguard ice shield in all valleys. -Dried in all roofs with Feltex synthetic underlayment. -Installed new flashings at all plumbing vents, replaced attic vents and installed four additional vents on the house and one on the north side of the garage. -Detatched and re-set swamp cooler supports as needed, installed new base flashing. -Provided and installed UL 2218 Class 4 impact resistant shingles and ridge nailed over the underlayment. Includes bay window roof. -Shingles six nailed for higher wind ratings. -Conducted final inspection and clean up.

They did an excellent job with no supervision on my part required. They even arranged a building permit and inspection which we didn't anticipate needing.

Approved an estimate form Boulder Roofing.Scheduled a date to begin the replacement of our roof. The company did not show up or call on the day of the job. When I called them the person who estimated and sold me the job said he just got back from vacation and didn't know why they weren't there. After checking he said they hadn't finished a previous job so they wouldn't be coming to do our job. He thought they could be there two days later.I explained we had scheduled other workman to start immediately after them and starting the job two days later would not work especially since he could not tell me for sure when they would complete the roof. This company could have called me days in advance if they were not going to show to do the work as it was scheduled several weeks in advance
Description of Work: Estimated and provided proposal for the removal and replacment of our roof.

Response from Boulder Roofing Inc
Scheduling a job is often a difficult aspect of the reroof process, as each week's work schedule can change based on a variety of different factors, including weather, completion of prior jobs, having the appropriate crew for the appropriate job, etc. As noted, the project manager was on vacation at the time this job was re-scheduled for two days later in the week. However, the other project managers who were coordinating that week's schedule, did not have a copy of the signed contract from the customer (which gives Boulder Roofing the official go-ahead to complete the work). Despite requests via e-mail, we had not received that document from the customer. Unfortunately, no follow-up phone call was made to clarify that to the homeowner. Usually, the project managers are involved together in scheduling jobs for the upcoming week, and any projects that have been tentatively scheduled which may have to be moved, definitely merit a phone call to notate the new schedule for the property owner. While the 2-day delay of this particular reroof was necessary, I apologize for the confusion between the lack of a signed contract and a phone call to make the owner aware.

Went beyond the roofing to help isolate a leak in window caulking, which was not his responsibility, very helpful and professional

The estimate was fair. Information was what I needed. Start date was on time. End date would have been on time except for awful weather. A lot of work was done even during inclement weather. I did not need to be involved or inconvienced.
Description of Work: Replaced the roof, reworked all metal vents, hauled away debris. When I was unclear about the process and the products, a home visit was in order. Product information was provided. The hardest part was choosing a color.

They had some problems because the solar panel was leaking oil so they had to figure out how to deal with that and clean up the mess. The mess was more than they bargained for but the estimate did not change. The new roof looks great. They are not good about getting back to you in order to schedule, however. But I am very happy with the service overall.
Description of Work: Removed an old solar panel that was leaking and removed a large section of shingles, repaired damage and put a new roof on my garage.
