Bill was very good at finding the trouble and repairing the bad connection. He was very pleasant and good about explaining what he was doing.

Bill came and removed the main board and had it sent off to a repair specialist who had dealt with such issues. They replaced the failed components and tested the board to ensure all good. Bill came back 2-3 weeks later and installed the board and all works fine again. Saved a $2000 set from the recycle bin for about $250. Yes I could and did immediately replace the Sony with a new 55" - 4K set for only $750, but now have the older 52" in a second room.

Bill spent a good 15-minutes with me on the phone troubleshooting a late-90's Magnavox.
Bill is old-school: he cares and spends time with you.

Bill methodically diagnosed the problem and repaired it in a very timely fashion. He brought a replacement module with him for our TV but decided that it wasn't needed. Extra expense saved - $140.

He took forever, had really bad communication, didn't fix our Plasma TV.  If we would have gone to a professional, they would have had the knowledge to know that the TV wasn't worth fixing and what was wrong with it.  He kept ordering parts that didn't fix it.
We signed up for Angie's list specifically to find a good TV repairman. We went off of the other 2 reviewers and were very disappointed.

In mid-December, 2012, the screen of my $1350 lcd hdtv, 4 years old, went black.  At the end of December, I called Bill; he came to my house, diagnosed the problem as bad buffer boards, and returned to his shop to order replacements.  Upon learning that replacement boards were not available, on 12/31/2012, he again came to my house, removed the bad ones, took them to his shop and did board-level repair.  He returned to my house on 1/16/2013 to reinstall the repaired boards, and after doing so the tv screen was still black.  Upon checking further, he discovered what appeared to be a bad capacitor on the power supply board.  He removed the power supply board and went back to his shop.  That evening he called to tell me the capacitor was in fact shorted out, that he had replaced it and asked me if it would be OK to come back that evening to reinstall the power supply board.  I said that was fine.  He arrived about 6:30 p.m., reinstalled the power supply board, and my tv came back to life.
The story here is not the elapsed time between calling Bill and getting my tv back.  It takes time get replacement parts that are not commonly available, and board-level repair can be difficult and time-intensive.  For me the story is two-fold.  First, in this age of throw-away electronics, there is someone who can fix your not-very-old, expensive television for a lot less money than buying a new one.  Second, Bill's persistence and his personal attention to my problem were commendable.  Throughout the process Bill made four trips to my house and repaired my tv for a very reasonable fee.  To add icing to the cake, he was extremely pleasant to work with.  I highly recommend him.

After trying replace a part on my TV myself, it would not power up again. I called Bill on Monday morning and he arrived just after 12:00 and he had the TV working by 1:00. He is one of the few television still working in our area that comes to your house. He has 40+ years of experience and was very pleasant to work with.
