They're local and they're very personable. I get discounts because I used them a lot. They are always getting the Bolder award. I would highly recommend them!

We didn't realize that Atlas did so much more than just flooring when we started. We got a quote for replacing our hardwood flooring on the main floor. They came in quite a bit less than our other bids. We subsequently did the same with new carpet on the 2nd level, as well as ordering our cabinet, sink, and counter top (granite) from them. Their prices could not be beat, and Rob (our main contact at Atlas) was great to work with. Atlas is a little bit different operation than a lot of other retailers. They handle the products themselves (ordering and providing the hardwood, carpet, sink, granite, and cabinet in our case), and contract with other contractors to do installation. The consumer has to get involved with the contractors; they are invoiced and paid separately, so a lot of your opinions concerning Atlas are based on the contractors they work with. In our case, all the installers were very good at what they did. It means if you're very hands-off and don't want to get involved with the details, Atlas may not be perfect for you; you need to be somewhat involved with them. That said, they were pretty easy to work with, and the final results are excellent. Our new hardwood floors were not only relatively inexpensive compared to other quotes, but look excellent. It's obvious the installers knew what they were doing and really cared about a job well done. The new carpeting on the 2nd level also looks great, and was cheaper than other quotes. There were a couple glitches during installation, but the contractor immediately made things right. The new cabinet for the powder room was so much less expensive than competitors (including the big box retailers), that it was a no-brainer going with Atlas. It was also of superior quality. We were able to get a beautiful granite remnant, again for half the price from others. The installation of the granite was not perfect however; that was the only part of the remodel done by Atlas that was not of very high grade. If you don't mind getting a little involved with your remodel effort, it's hard to beat Atlas. You certainly can't beat their prices, and they're really good people to work with.

ATLAS FLOORING pulled up the rug carefully, pulled up the nails well, and installed the rug well. They ordered the rug for me and it came in the correct amount of time but the rug didn't look like I expected it to look.

They were great. What made us decide to go with them versus somewhere else was that they actually beat the pricing of the manufacturer. I have recommended them to friends and I would like to recommend them to others for sure. They are also north of Boulder, but they are outside of Boulder's tax region so there is an additional saving you get by not having to pay that.

What a terrific experience!  Last spring while planning a relocation to Boulder to reoccupy a house I owned I went to Atlas as one of several carpet stores.  I was planning to move back in to the house after having rented it out for 18 years.  Before I moved in I wanted to replace all of the carpeting.  Nate DeBuse was amazing!  He gave me a mini-tutorial in carpet materials, costs, techniques, etc. I left there that day and went to other stores but none were as helpful and thorough in discussing the details as Nate had been.  I returned to Atlas to see about arranging for the carpet.  As we talked he pointed out that in addition to the carpeting he could help me out with the other work I needed to have done -- complete refinishing of hardwood floors and the repair (removal and redo) of a walk-in shower that the last renter had ruined.  I was very stressed out about all of this work since I was not yet living in the area and was leaving to head back to the east coast for what I thought was another 4-6 weeks and the work would need to be done in my absence.
To make a long story short, Nate really went the extra mile and hooked me up with the contractors that I needed to do the other work (Steel's Hardwood for the kitchen floor refinishing and Rick Bratrud for the tile work and carpet removal and installation).  Nate then worked very hard to put together a carpet and tile materials list - great selections and he made an extra effort to find affordable tile that really looks like it cost more than I actually paid!  He coordinated all of the details with Rick for the tile work and Nate also answered all of my questions and helped me review the work plans.  Nate proposed a carpet material that was also more affordable than I had thought I could find - a very good quality "remnant" kind of deal that could cover all of the floor areas on both floors.  Nate was available whenever I called and quickly responded with faxes when additional information was needed.  All of the work was performed while I was out of town.  When I arrived in August (much later than I had thought) the house looked amazing.  The work was very expertly done and really made such a difference in my enjoyment moving back in to this house.  I can't emphasize enough how Nate's 150% effort made this a stress-free, pleasant and successful experience.    I will submit separate reviews for Steel's Hardwood and Rick Bratrud if possible to recommend their services - again, very pleasant, professional and outstanding quality service.

I bought high-end wool carpet from Atlas because I was concerned about the chemicals in regular carpet.  The glue they used to secure the carpet (which they failed to tell me about -- many times carpets is tacked down) stunk horribly for weeks, even after repeatedly airing the room.  So much for avoiding chemicals.  My efforts at resolving this issue with the company were totally unsatisfactory as well.  Overall it was a frustrating and totally unsatisfactory experience.

Overall this was a good experience and we are very happy with our new carpeting.   Atlas Flooring has their "great, low deals" wall (in their store) and that is where we made our selection from.  They also have all the name-brand displays if you're looking for something specific.  These "deals" on their wall are kind of like overstock or clearance products.  Hence, you"re NOT absolutely sure what it is that you're buying.  Makes it difficult to price shop..........you never know if you're comparing apples with apples.  Understand that if you buy off this "wall" your guarantee is with Atlas & not the carpet manufacturer.  And you don't get any kind of "care guide" or information on the fiber makeup, etc.  I was told my product was a Mohawk carpet so I ended up contacting Mohawk myself to learn how to care for my new rug.  Even that was somewhat problematic as I couldn't provide them with any style numbers.  But, we love our new carpeting, the installation was smooth and the installer (Eric & his team) did an EXCELLENT job.  So we are satisfied customers.  To us, the attractive price made it a nice experience.  We'll be back!

I bought flooring from Leister Bowling, the owner of Atlas Flooring. He guaranteed me a year?s warranty on my flooring verbally. The manufacturer of the flooring did have a warranty on it but Leister sold it to me in a way that would not honor the warranty. He either put in damaged wood bought on sale or the installer damaged it when it was installed. We couldn?t replace any flooring because it was discontinued.

I took him to small claims court. The product was bad, the installation was bad, & his word meant nothing. There?s no warranty on the materials, which were after-market anyway. There?s no warranty on the installation because the installation didn?t come from an approved company. You?re also not supposed to have a dog on these floors. Leister told me the exact opposite ? when I asked him directly about whether or not my dog could walk on these floors he said ?Yes?. He knew there was no warranty when he sold me the flooring but he told me the opposite.

The situation was bad from the get-go all the way through today. The installer didn?t put sliders under my furniture so when I moved it, the floors where further ruined.  I had a list of 28 things that needed to be addressed ? for example, they even ruined my porcelain stove by dropping stuff on it. He sent one of his workers over to look at my list of complaints ? He simply said ?those are a lot of details ? guys don?t see details?.  It was as if he was intentionally blind! Over 2 years I called literally 250 times just to try & get this resolved & got nothing back.

Leister even says they?ve been in business in over 57 years. He just bought the business in 2007 but acts like he?s owned the whole time. Up front they were kind & generous & insisted they?d take care of me. Customer service apparently stops after the sale is completed though. I won in small claims court but it?s not enough to replace the flooring ? I won but I still lost.

Atlas was helpful, courteous and had some very fine choices of in-stock or easy to order tile. The order was filled on time and the staff was available to answer questions about the order.

The installer was responsive and punctual to jobsite, as well as courteous and professional. They provided an excellent job as well as totally cleaned up the bathroom afterwards.
