CBC CONSTRUCTION

First impression/estimate very favorable. Representative was personable, seemed honest and promised high-quality, efficient, timely work. Work began soon after first payment (framing), but soon several days would pass with no sign of workers. Emails/phone calls would go unanswered for several days followed by a blame game directed at a CBC employee or supplier or city inspector or subcontractor for delays. Project promised to be completed within 6 to 10 weeks. 10 weeks after starting, we were barely past framing and rough-ins. Ultimately, project took 6-1/2 months to complete a small basement (complete is a term used advisedly), marked by long periods of no work, many stories from subcontractors and employees of CBC not paying them/lying about reasons for non-payment (our sense: no one trusts CBC) Much of the work was so poorly done by CBC we were forced to tear it out and hire other more honest, competent craftsman for redo. This has cost us at least $15000 more so far.
