I was literally writing a scathing review about Diversified Roofing, because one of their employees, Wes Moyer, was giving me a hard time over correcting some sub-par results. I had three expectations from a professional company: consistent overhangs, centered valleys, and it better not leak. Reasonable, right? Unfortunately, some sections weren't straight, and some valleys were not how I expected or preferred. And I made sure to let them know--not trying to be rude, (or "picky," as Wes called me), but to make sure it's legit, and I'm not left cursing Diversified every time I see the roof overhang tapering. To be fair, the crew was nice, hard-working, but they came during the worst possible weather, as it was snowing nearly 12-20 inches each night, it was cold, and the days were short. Snow banks as high as the roof, I hadn't been able to clear the walkways cuz I was at work. It had to be miserable. Kudos to them for their resilience! They got the roof covered in a couple days, but it had some tweaking to do still. The crew had already been back a few times to straighten a crooked section over the garage, then to fix some odd valleys on a dormer. But, after I noticed yet another misaligned roof, this time Wes was quick to pass it off as my house being out-of-square, although I know from lots of construction experience that there are techniques to alleviate spacial discrepancies to achieve a clean, consistent finish. He said there wasn't. He demanded under threat of putting a lien on my home that I pay up for a "completed job." He told me, "... some people's expectations are unrealistic." I disagreed, wondering why they would readily come straighten my garage section, but not the front porch roof. I didn't wanna pay the balance due yet, knowing if I did there's less chance of getting the contractor back to fix it, but I didn't need him trying to put a lien on the property, so I agreed to pay; I also told him I needed his business insurance info, cuz I was going to file a claim, and hope that maybe the insurance would pay to have some other crew come fix it. (I was also gonna file claims of poor quality work to the Colorado licensing board, and talk to a construction lawyer to see what options I had). I told Wes I would make this info public, cuz bad press can hurt a company. He said, "Understood. ... When's a good time to pick up the check." Clearly more concerned about the money than the customer, over what really amounts to a couple hours labor and a valley section. Like I said, I was originally writing a bad review and was about to post it, however, at the exact same time that my finger was about to press POST, the owners of Diversified, messaged me, asking if they could come by with the crew and see what's going on. Within an hour, on Superbowl Sunday, probably during the game, they showed up, we discussed the situation, and they began removing the metal panels. A short time later, the roof was straight, thankfully this time in much nicer weather. Just like that, the problem was settled, the stress alleviated. I gladly handed them their check. Thanks, guys! The heart of Diversified came through to leave a professional result. One employee/contractor, whatever Wes is/was, almost had me writing a bad review about Diversified. In reality, the professional, personable, and pleasant demeanors of the owners and the crew that showed up, on Superbowl Sunday, with his wife waiting in the car, is admirable. Definitely. Use Diversified. They will not leave you unsatisfied. Unfortunately, this doesn't bode well for Wes, though, huh? Sorry, but not sorry. Ya know? Cheers!
