They showed up the next morning and started removing the roof in sections, and then putting the new adhesive roofing material.
No significant underlying wood was damaged, and they let me inspect the wood prior to the next step.
The existing copper flashing was repaired as they moved along.
Each metal piece was custom cut so there were no breaks in the metal.
Each metal piece was anchored to the roof by anchors that were then hidden by the next piece.
Each new metal piece was then sealed to prior metal piece by a fold over seal done by a metal bender that ran up each piece.
The Stucco was cut up 9 inches, and the flashing was replaced with new flashing.
The Stucco was old and developed some cracks, so I had the stucco repair guys repair the entire region, and they did a very good job as well. Stucco was repaired prior to putting in the adjacent metal roof, to minimize any chance of damage to the metal.
The custom Ski Lights that they had ordered fit perfectly, and were installed with new flashing.
Everything went very smoothly, but they were short of metal, and had to do the last two pieces the following week.
"The owner of this home did a partial roof replacement and did some of the work himself. They had some black goo coming from their ceiling that is a mystery to us. We have been installing roofing in this area since 1975, have an A+ rating with the BBB and have an impeccable record for customer service and quality roofing in our area. There home is not vented and we suggested venting their roof to prevent the moisture and mystery goo from coming into their home. They declined due to cost."
