I hired an electrician in Pitkin County to install track lighting and to install a fan with lighting in my bedroom. The company name is High Country Electric ,. I told him to cover the flooring so that he does not make a huge mess on the brand new cork flooring. The guy started drilling holes in the concrete ceiling to install the track lighting. He started to slide my sleeper couch which weighs about 400 pounds. I had my back turned to him at the time and said, "what are you doing?" The guy scratched my brand new cork flooring with the couch, and sprayed concrete dust all over the new leather furniture and the new cork flooring. I was frustrated with him because he left such a big mess with the concrete dust all over the new flooring. I left my place for about two hours and he had not done a single thing since I left . I said what have you been doing you have not drilled more holes in the ceiling and the day is almost over. He said oh I was trying to feed this wire through the wall and I could not see what I was doing so I cut a huge hole in your wall to see what I was doing. So he said I am going to have to come back tomorrow. So after the first day which he charged me 85 dollars and hour and quoted me at 4-8 hours for the whole job. He had to come back and finish the job on the second day because the first day all he did was drill holes spray concrete dust all over the floor. He comes back the second day, after taking way to long the first day, and again sprays concrete dust all over the floor. I was frustrated again and he did not offer to clean up the mess he left behind. He was quick to grab my cash and left. Then when I turned the lights on I realized that every time he moved his step later he left little marks or dents in the cork flooring. So every time he moved the later there were marks from the step later in the cork flooring. When I tried to reason with the guy and said you damaged my flooring he came over and saw the dents he saw the scratch on the flooring from the couch and said yes I see that. I told him I would try to fix the flooring but in a couple months if I can not fix it we have to do something. A couple months later I contacted him and he was very rude using swear words very aggressive on the phone called me an idiot and used the "f" word and said he was going to do absolutely nothing. Again I tried to reason with the guy and said for the fact that it took me three hours each day to clean all my furniture and the cork flooring because concrete dust smears into leather and it smears into cork flooring it takes a long time to get it out. I said I think you owe me like half my money back which is 425 dollars, If I want to replace the flooring I have to pay someone 500 dollars to rip out existing flooring. Then 2,000 dollars for material, pus about a 1,000 dollars to install the new flooring. So 400 dollars or half my money back is not a big deal. Again he contacted me and he was very rude and said he did not damage anything and he owes me nothing and it was my fault for choosing cork flooring. He said if you want to take legal action I have no case and go on Angies list because he does not care he will get lots of work anyways. So here I am and I give Tom Neimer of High country electric a F rating for his aggresive behavior over the telephone his crazy loud voice and the use of the "f " word. I also give him an F grade for not being a professional and recognizing the brand new flooring and scratching my floor with the couch and marking up the floor with his step later and leaving dents. I also give him a F grade for spraying concrete dust all over my apartment not once but twice and not offering to clean up after himself. Thanks Tom Neimer at (970) 927-9102 of High Country Electric you have yourself a nice day.
