Air Duct Cleaning
$150
I had purchased a Groupon deal for $59.00, but then was charged $150.00 more. He did not have very good equipment. The suction on his machine was very low and he ended up not cleaning the dryer vent because he said it wasn't connected properly, but he did not take off the charge for cleaning on the bill. When I asked for a copy of the receipt (which I could tell had a carbon, he said he would e-mail it to me, but never did.

They didn’t do it right at all.  I called him out to come take care of it properly, and he whined and complained that he didn’t get paid to fix jobs.  I didn’t really care as I just wanted it done right.  Even after he came back, the ducts were still coughing up dust and debris and the filters are still filthy.  Their customer service was very bad, and the second person who came over was just very rude.  The furnace guy who came over two weeks after I got the air ducts cleaned and told me I should have them cleaned.  He was astounded that they looked so bad.  I even called their manager to complain about the customer service, and they never even called me back to apologize.

Basically, I bought a Living Social Deal for this company, which turned out to be a total bait and switch.
I called the company before I even purchased the deal, to verify any extra charges. I told them I have a large house with an extra furnace, and asked if I would incur any extra charges. I was told the extra furnace would be $75. I bought the deal, then called back and scheduled the appointment after verifying the $75 charge again. They were an hour late to that appointment, so I rescheduled.I called that morning to verify their arrival time, and to ask how long the services usually take, as I had to be somewhere by 5:00. They were supposed to arrive between 12:00 and 2:00, and I was told it would probably take about 2 hours. I was also told I would receive a call when they were on their way or outside. At 2:30 they were not there, so I called, and was informed that they were still at another house, and would probably be another 30 minutes before they arrived. I didn't want to push my luck with the time frame, so I rescheduled.
Today they were supposed to arrive between 2:00 and 4:00. I made arrangements at work to be home during that time.  They were 4 hours early (arrived at 10:30) and I had to come home early to meet them. I received no phone call at all in regards to them being on their way.  The technicians started looking at all the vents and what not. When I asked about the charges for the extra furnace, the technician told me the total cost was going to be $688! This was an obvious bait and switch tactic. Even if I had not had an extra furnace, i would have been charged $100's extras for things like the motor of the furnace, and the access panel. (doesn't every system have these??) Not to mention the charges for  Sanitizer and Mold Inspection, which he originally put in the estimate, then decided he would offer free of charge.
When I called the company, both the manager and the owner were conveniently in New York for two weeks and unreachable. The woman I talked to said that they inform their customers that extra charges apply to Living Social deals when they schedule. I called twice and was never told of any extra charge besides the extra furnace, and only because i asked about it. Even so, I think it is horrible practice to do that to customers after they have already purchased the deal, it should be in the fine print at the very least. Not "call for details" and hope you get somebody competent on the phone. (She did tell me "It says on all our coupons to call for details")
All in all, I would never recommend this company. On their punctuality alone I would rate them an F, but their bait-and-switch is just really sleazy.

They actually didn't come on time, they came an hour and a half late. I had many things done, that were extra charges, so the price was just awful.
