He left a mess in my garage with the grout and on my front porch. A mess all over the walls, counter tops, etcetera. He lost his level on part of the backsplash, so it's crooked. The grout lines are thick in some areas, thin in others and missing all together on some parts of the wall. He used the wrong type of grout, laid chipped tiles up, did not use proper spacers for the electrical outlets. I plugged the toaster in and it sucked back into the wall. He cracked the outlet covers and put them back up that way. he cut itty bitty pieces that went up to the bull nose edge on part of my wall and I asked him to fix. He came back, took those pieces off and replaced (still looks like crap), damaged the wall and left it that way.
His grout job was horrible. Not only did he use the wrong grout but he completely missed spots. My husband and I didn't even know what to say because he seemed like such a nice man. Now we are stuck getting estimates for someone else to come in and rip out what he did wrong and redo the backsplash. I should have known better when he charged only $300 for labor. We wasted around $200 in materials. I will say, this man should be very careful or he will get sued doing that kind of job on someone. We are now stuck paying at least 5 xs the price to fix his horrible job.
I'm pretty confident this man has never done a backsplash before ours. It's pretty heartbreaking to have something like this happen when we speant so much money on our new, beautiful home. If I can save someone the hassle, buyer beware. This man should not be in business, it's that bad. It's like paying someone to destroy your home.
