I am sad to say the quality of work performed by this company has diminished greatly. We had Daniel's company install a wall & flagstone patio for us almost 20 years ago. The wall is still in great shape and the patio does show signs of weathering but otherwise still in good shape. However, in 2021 we asked Daniel back to install another flagstone wall and patio. We had a few issues with the install design not being the agreed-upon design but in the end, they did an acceptable job even though we felt they rushed the job. In less than a year the wall is severally cracked and the patio has several major cracks. He also installed 2 steps in which one step is now loose. We have pictures to back up our claims. We called Daniel 2 times and emailed several times. His office had scheduled an appointment for him to come out and look at the issues. He never showed. They are no longer returning our calls or emails. I can not recommend a company that does not stand behind its work.

The worst. Once they completed the work, they never followed up on the warranty, so we had bricks falling off walls, trees were never planted, plants were dying.

Finally reached Rob by phone in mid May. We did some texting back and forth, he said that I shouldn't have purchased the $99. deal as this is really a free service, but he would take care of me. . He was responsive until we met the day of the appointment. He came out and looked at my needs, said he would get me a line item estimate so I could pick and choose which service to do as there was so much to do! The small print of the deal offered an additional 15% off any service which is why I had purchased it. He said he would take care of me but I've never heard back from him either by email, phone or Text. His associate did call about a week later responding to my initial several calls to the office to make that initial appointment where we did meet. But never any contact again. I basically threw away that $99.00.

Just moved into a new build (second in as many years) and Daniel and his crew far exceeded my expectations both in value and quality. It's refreshing to work with a team that knows what they are doing and care about quality. The work included a 10' CO Spruce, 10' Bosnian, three 18' multi-stem Aspen's and four other trees in addition to shrubs, sod, irrigation, concrete, mulch, rock and so on.

Good experience overall. We finished the work late in the season so looking forward to seeing the spring bloom. Rob was very willing to work with us to match our budget with the design we wanted and helped me figure out how to filll in some gaps. The crew was great onsite and were respectful and professional.

Working with Daniel's Landscaping initially went well. They came out immediately for an estimate and they were excellent in helping me refine the design for my yard. (It should be noted, the person with whom I worked on this has since left the company.) Once the design was completed they never gave me a date for when they would start. They just showed up one day, completely unannounced. The crew worked very fast and the yard was done in just a few days. It looked very good. However, they didn't install some of the plants on the design. They did come back out and half-way fixed the situation by putting in some of the requested plants. Then the real problems with Daniel started. After living with the yard for a while I realized some of the larger rocks placed (as was designed) needed to be moved; they were just too close to the driveway. After several months, this still hasn't been fixed. I've called Daniel several times. Getting in touch is problematic, but eventually he did come out and I explained what I wanted done (all warranty work, too). He told me he'd have a crew back out to move the rocks. Three or so months later, the crew still has never showed up. I've tried calling Daniel several times, leaving voice messages. He has just stopped returning my calls. I've given up and now have to use a different contractor to move these rocks. Bottom line, the customer service is lousy at best. I wish I had spent more and used a different contractor.

Soon after the flagstone and cement patio extension were completed, the flag stone and cement patio extension separated from the concrete porch area. I contacted a representative of Daniel's Landscape and Design to request repairs. They did not respond to my original or numerous phone calls until 14 days after the initial call. A call I placed to request the company to honor their warranty. Below is an email I received from the company basically telling me that my job is not important and that it is only a "cosmetic" problem so they didn't have a pressing need to come out and address and fix the problem in a timely manner. Please note that the initial contract to put in a retaining wall, capping of existing concrete porch area and the cement patio extension were all "cosmetic." We never had a structural need. I am including an excerpt from their email to us responding to our concerns so that you can see how they will address your concerns and how they will treat you as a customer. The following is part of the email we received from Daniel's Landscaping and Design: "The basis for your dispute is frivolous and without merit. Nonetheless, the following is provided for your informational purpose so that you can make an "educated" choice going forward rather than insisting that it is Daniel's responsibility to resolve this dispute beyond honoring his warranty and facilitating your repairs. Your hairline cracks were not of a structural nature and were cosmetic only. There was NOT a pressing need to come out there immediately to address them as they would have been addressed. We have NEVER not taken care of a warranty issue. We are not going to start with you regardless of the way in which you have conducted yourself throughout our dealings. While you would not recommend using our service, I'm confident that the feeling is reciprocated. We would not recommend to another contractor that they work for you."

The original work was completed quickly, but follow up never happened. Each time we try to call or contact them about the warranty items, they never answer the phone or return on emails/text messages. Basically we're stuck with what we have now. I've included several photos of their "workmanship" The problems include: - Poor sprinkler system installation. The sprinkler system was installed, but it is not adequate for the landscape projects. We have many patches that never get water. They came back a few times after the installation to check on it, adjusted things, but that never helped. - Poor workmanship on stone work. You can see in the pictures where the stones are just simply falling off the the wall. - Trees dying or blowing over. They installed trees, and some are dying and others are just getting blown over. These should be covered by warranty, but they don't care anymore now that they've taken our money. Basically these guys are crooks, they take your money and do not deliver. If you want to pour a lot of money into a landscape project and get bad work or no followup, they by all means use Daniels. if you want quality work, reliability, and someone who will follow through with what is on the contract, then find someone else. We're now having to finish the project ourselves, do our own fix up of their mess. What a pain!

It didn't. I clicked on their offer because I had some landscaping issues that I hoped a "professional" would be able to help me solve. $100 seemed a good price for having them come out, consult and then submit for the work. After I submitted the 3-6 scheduled time options asked in this offer I received one call asking that I call back - not telling which of the 6 times and days they could make it. When I did, I got their voicemail. No follow up. After a few months of no follow up I requested a refund. No follow up. Enjoy my $100 guys - you lost a whole lot more by not being professional enough to even call back. With so many quality landscapers out there why put up with thieves like theses bozos?

Daniels crew is fast! I do not know if I have ever seen people work harder. They all love what they do and you can tell they take pride working for Daniels Landscaping It only took 3 weeks and not every day of those 3 weeks. I had a couple of issues with the sprinkler system at first and it was handled professionally and quick. I had an issue with the lights and they were fixed within the week. I am really happy I went with Daniels Landscaping. I will definitely use him again.

My yard was completed on 9/13 and all the neighbors are jealous ! The transformation is incredible. I have privacy from the street, an outdoor fireplace with built in seating on each side, extended patio for entertaining and a tranquil waterfall. The trees and flowers are gorgeous ! Daniel and his crew were punctual and friendly. He assisted me with getting the design approved with the HOA which took the stress off of me. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs landscaping done ! I cannot wait to enjoy my yard with friends and family for years to come ! Thank you Daniel and crew! The Sosa Family

At first I thought it was going to go well. Within 6 months I am having to hire other contractors to repair and redo the sprinkler system The yard was not prepared well for seeding and almost nothing is growing. I paid $3000 for the prep and seeding and it is a disaster. The original group at Daniel's disbanded and no one seems to be willing to assume responsibility and take care of the issues. Essentially the experience has been the nightmare you read about . I am interviewing new landscapers to fix the work that was not done well.. Most just shake their heads and comment that they are amazed that anything is growing.

It went terribly! We created a very specific plan of what was to take place. Later, they tweaked the design without consulting me. Rob and Gary asked for a down payment + 50% down, which I agreed to do. They were late or didn't show up at all on several occasions. The crew scraped the side of my house during the work, which they later denied. The crew also broke a brick and then lied about it (I had to ask about the broken brick before they acknowledged the damage. In response, they said they glued the brick back into the house, but I have video showing how the brick was not glued into the side of the house). They didn't program the sprinkler system and they also installed a faulty sprinkler head. I had to figure out how to install the sprinkler system myself (via Google). They didn't fix the faulty sprinkler head for a week. As result, portions of my new sod weren't getting water and ultimately died. The crew finally fixed the sprinkler head, but they didn't replace the dead sod. I was told, "it'll grow back". I have weeds growing already, and the sod is not growing back in the time frame they gave me. Both patios have several chipped pavers that aren't level. They didn't have the paver color I wanted, but said they had a close match. It turned out to be completely different from what I had originally wanted. They have been consistently unresponsive and have even tried to blame me for the poor quality of their work. They were supposed to come over to fix the issues with my project today (this is the third time they were supposed to "personally finish" the project), and no one showed-up. I had to call them for a status update and was given several excuses regarding why they couldn't be here today. They are over 2 weeks past their projected finish date. They continually asked me for the remainder of my payment before the job was done even though our contract specifically stated I wasn't to pay in-full job until the job was completed. To top it all off, after taking my down payment and after I signed our contract, they informed me that they aren't even the company that they claim to be on Angie's List! After doing some research, I learned that the project manager for "Daniel Landscaping", Arturo Gonzales, is actually the owner of Outdoor Design Colorado - the company they later disclosed actually be!

When I turned on the sprinkler system in the spring of 2014, one of the parts fell off in the valve box in the front yard. The company did come out to fix it soon after I called. Unfortunately, both of the valves in that same box started leaking but I didn't realize it for a couple of months. The company came out to check it after I called, but only manually tightened the valves to fix the problem. I had assumed it was fixed but found out later that the valves started leaking again. I ended up just calling a local sprinkler company to fix the problem and was told that these valves needed to be replaced. This cost me $135. I don't know what affect all this leakage had on my water bill. Then when I turned on the sprinkler system a couple of weeks ago (April 2015), I noticed a little water in my basement. As it turns out, the pipes next to the back of the house are now leaking! I have sent an email and left two voice messages for this company with no response. I will most likely have to pay a different company to fix this problem, also. I had a sprinkler system when I lived in a different location and I only ended up replacing/fixing parts because of age (approx 10 yrs old). I don't understand why this newly installed system has so many problems but because the company is not responsive to correcting them, I am very disappointed and would NOT recommend this company to anyone.

First I want to say that my patio is a DREAM COME TRUE! Daniel and his crew really outdid themselves! My interactions with Daniel were excellent from the beginning. He was very easy to get a hold of, and extremely responsive every time I emailed him or called him. His wife responds to much of the correspondence as well, and she is like talking to an old friend. The ease of communication was extremely important to us because, especially in the busy season, most other landscapers never get back to us. When Daniel came to our home, we had already put down a refundable deposit with another landscaper. I was simply doing my due diligence by getting another quote. Daniel had great ideas and provided a lot of input. He brought up the idea of flagstone patio instead of pavers. By the end of the quote, we were so impressed with Daniel that we requested our money back from the other company. Before the job began, Daniel sent me pictures and spent time helping me pick out the right color. I LOVED that he gave me his opinion. So many other landscapers so-and quot;its whatever you likeand quot;...but I don't see this stuff everyday, so I didn't know what I liked. Daniel was not pushy with his opinion, just honest. Though he did spend adequate time with us, there were still a few details that I was uneasy about because I was looking at things in pictures and not in person. It required trust on my part, but it was completed exactly as expected.Daniel's time frame to begin the project and also to finish was better than everyone else's. Our entire patio was completed in one week. Though we did not see Daniel much in the throughout the week, his foreman, Juan, was amazing! He was very professional, patient and paid attention to detail. I was nervous to bring up a small change that I wanted, but he was very nice about it and agreed with me. Daniel came over when the project was done to make sure I was happy and also helped me figure out how to seal it within my budget. He also gave me ideas about other things to do with my landscaping-some that were diy and some that he could help with in the future. Daniel's price was fair and he respected our budget. He was slightly better priced than the big landscape companies, and slightly more than the smaller companies. He was very accommodating regarding the lighting. When we couldn't afford the package, we ended up buying our lighting ourselves and his crew laid it for us in the concrete under the pavers. Daniel added some nice extra touches by building in beautiful granite boulders in the flagstone. I am guilty of being a fairly critical person, and that was magnified by the fact that I've had such bad luck in the past with other people. Daniel exceeded my expectations and is the first contractor I've had to home that I would be excited to use again. The patio is truly a professional job and is everything I asked for. When the job was completed, Juan spent a half a day cleaning up and putting my yard back the way he found it.

Daniel was prompt in responding to our request for a bid. He proposed some great ideas and was wonderfully responsive to our requirements and budget limitations. In less than an hour we were in full agreement on every aspect of the landscaping of our side and back yard. Privacy from our neighbors was one of our goals along with physical beauty. Both were achieved in totality. He is a pleasure to work with, it is like dealing with an old friend. On the day the work began his crew was right on time and wasted no time getting to work. Daniel asked that my wife and I participate in planning curves in the walk way and the stone wall and proceeded to form it in accordance to our liking. The rest of the crew removed sod and dug tree holes. Every thing was organized and coordinated. The project was completed in two days. His crew members were a joy to work with and had great attitudes. I was especially impresses by the quality of his stone work. Great craftsmanship. We couldn't be happier with the end result, we recommend Daniel without reservation.

Some things that were not ok include:

- Included in our landscape design was a water feature. After it was approved and built, we  discovered that Daniel's Landscape  does not to electrical work. So now we have a water feature built, but cannot run the water since there is no power. If you have a water feature done by them, be aware that it will not be complete and working, you have to pay extra for that!

- We had a grill installed. Again, since they do not do electrical work, the  Rotisserie does  not work. Again the contract should have stated, they would build a grill, but nothing electrical will work  unless you pay more.

- Included in the warranty was if any of the plants died within a year, they would be replaced. Well we  had to fight to get some replaced. There should be no need to fight to get warranty work.

- Last fall, they were suppose to blow out the sprinkler system, but they never did.

I think there is a real communication problem with this company. They never return phone calls, and most of the time never even pick up the phone.

With the cost of our  full landscape project, and the fact that we referred these people to many of our neighbors and so they got a lot of extra business, they should have really worked hard to make sure things were done properly. Many of our neighbors are also complaining that they are not honoring the warranty work now.

I would not deal with them again, I would advise to find another company that is more reliable, and will honor their warranty work.

If you want a lot of frustration, unreliable warranty work, and just a lot of hassle, then by all means go with them

============== Several Weeks Later ==================

We are still having problems with Daniel's Landscape.
- The sales person that sold us our landscaping project Rob Law, we learned has left the company. So he does not return any of our calls. This could explain the previous review's comments that no one returned his calls.- According to our landscape design, we are missing about 20 plants. No calls or emails to Daniel the owner are being returned asking about these missing plants.- They installed a water feature for our yard, but that does not include power to the water feature. Now we're getting quotes from electricians, and the extra cost will be anywhere from $1,500 to over $3K! Just to get the water feature working that we payed them to install. There was no fine print saying they would install the water feature but it would never be in working order!- We have also heard that the owner Daniel could not get visas for some workers from Mexico, and so he is having all kinds of problems getting the jobs done that he's promised.
If you want a landscape job done on time and on budget, stay away from these people. They will not complete the work they promised, they will not honor their warranties, and it will be a nightmare to deal with them in the future.

Daniel's Landscaping exceeded our expectations!  We received a quote in late spring, got on the schedule and the job started when they said it would.  The transformation of the back yard is amazing; we keep walking around in disbelief that it's ours!

The crew:

  • Removed a deteriorating flagstone patio, made sure the ground was leveled properly, and replaced with a beautiful buff flagstone and concrete patio.
  • Built an awesome satellite patio from the same material.
  • Placed 3 landscaping boulders...perfectly around the satellite patio
  • Removed unsightly rock from under deck and replaced with pavers for a much more functional and clean space.
  • Repurposed some of the existing flagstone by creating nice walkways where it made sense.
  • Built new stone flower bed on the front of the house.
  • Removed all of the debris and materials at the end of the job.
  • Was always punctual, polite, hard working and tidy.

We communicated with Daniel daily and he was always calm and professional; working hard to stay within our relatively small budget but still managing to give us many extras.  He came to the job site personally to make sure everything was going as planned and to keep us informed.  I appreciated that it was the same crew on the project and that they worked until a reasonable hour.  We also appreciated that they were there everyday until the job was complete (5.5 days)

All in all, a great experience and we wouldn't hesitate to call Daniel again or recommend Daniel's Landscaping to others.
