Above & Beyond Sewing and Vacuum - South Shore

I dropped off my machine at the store on Wednesday, 04.17.13 with instructions to call me with an estimate. (Later, I verified these instructions because they were written on the receipt I was given after the work was done).  I told them I had found them on Angies's List.  I called them on Friday, 04.19 to see if they had looked at it.  I was told the repairman only came on Tuesday's (first time I was given that bit of information).  I waited until Thursday, 04.25 and called them again. I was told that the repairman had written a note about finding a short in the electrical cord, but that he hadn't called the store with his findings. I was told that the repairman would typically report in to his manager and then the manager would call the store. I replied that to my knowledge there was nothing wrong with the electrical cord. I was then told that the store was holding some kind of an event the next day that they were preparing for, and that they might not be able to get back to me for a while. At this point I was still under the assumption that I would be called with an estimate before any work was done. I did not receive a message or phone call and I finally called them again on Monday, 04.29. They said that someone had left me a message (which I did not receive) over the weekend and that my machine was ready to be picked up. I was suprised that they hadn't followed my instructions to call me first, and asked them how much the repair was and what they had found. They said that the electrical cord was not the problem after all, and that they had fixed the stitching tension. I arrived at the store on Tuesday, 04.30, paid the $99.00 bill, and was given a receipt for the bill. I asked them if there was something written that explained the work that had been performed. With a sigh, they produced another cash register receipt that stated "Work Performed: Cleaned and lubricated. Tension adjument, test sew and exterior cleaning."  I asked if there was a warranty and was curtly told there was a 90 day warrantly (which I later found written on the receipt).
After testing, I find the work performed was excellent. The tension is working perfectly now. However, because of the poor customer service and attitude, I would not recommend this store.

UGH I wish I had looked here before taking my vacuum in. Dyson sent me to them to fix my vacuum. The lady never mentioned that they had a backlog otherwise I would have turned right around and walked out. 1 week later I call to see whats going on and they tell me that its another week before they even LOOK at my machine.
Dyson advised me to get my machine back and go elsewhere. I go to pick up my vacuum to be told that its in Thornton and no idea when they can get it back to me. After voicing my frustration she crossed her arms told me my vacuum would be returned when its returned and that they don't need my business. I'm sure they wont have that attitude if many people complain to Dyson and their contract is pulled. To basically be called a liar that they tell EVERYONE how long their backlog is just insulting, who in their right mind will wait 2 weeks before their vacuum is even looked at.
I was so mad I thought I was going to throw up! 0 stars and another complaint will be filed to Dyson.
