As per Better Business Bureau Report filed on Aug 16, 2010: Vendor was consistently late and unresponsive to REPEATED phone calls. Throughout this re-landscaping project, Roman Martinez showed an extraordinary lack of professionalism: not meeting schedule time-and-time again - yet promising, doing half the work - and then vanishing for days. His behavior caused repeated planning inconvenience to the homeowner and contractor, placed the security of the house in jeopardy, and made a two week project a two month-long ordeal. He was paid an advance (half) for materials and then the same amount for labor when the fence was installed. Small additionals were to be paid at the conclusion of the job; Roman never finished the job. The fence DID finally get up, the locking gate finally hung, the vintage door finally restored and hung, and the locks finally installed. However, Roman did NOT return the doorknob to the original 1925 house door; he stopped returning the contractor's - and then the customer's - phone calls. He forced the contractor to finish the work, thereby leaving the project substandard. He never responded to the BBB. NOTE: Very large language barrier in dealing with this vendor.
