"I'm sorry to say that this homeowner is either mixed up or has K&H confused with another window company with whom he did business. This homeowner did purchase windows from K&H Home Solutions on 10/6/1999. He purchased 12 windows manufactured by Republic Windows, with Heat Mirror Glass, for $5,518. His warranty on those windows was the manufacturer's lifetime limited warranty, which was passed through to him, along with a standard 1 year installation warranty, which our records show was extended to a lifetime installation warranty. At the time of purchase the lifetime warranty was explained to him and disclosed in his contract that the parts warranty was covered by the manufacturer. He even received a warranty form from Republic Windows upon payment of his contract. He contacted us in 2007 and 2010 about purchasing additional windows but chose not to purchase from K&H either of those times. Republic Windows went out of business November 2008 as a casualty of the economic downturn and unfortunately with it went the homeowner's lifetime limited warranty. When he contacted K&H in February 2010 and July 2011 this was explained to him by K&H's staff as well as K&H's President. We explained that he would have to pay for the replacement glass cost and we would cover the cost of installation. His assertion of purchasing windows from K&H on 8/1/2005 for $15,000 is either a mistake or a fabrication! If he purchased windows on that date for that much money it was not from K&H. If, as he contends, it was K&H he needs to produce a copy of the contract, which he has not done. We have no record of even having any discussions with him in 2005. After his purchase in 1999 our next communication with him was July 2007. This detail is important due to the seriousness of his accusation against us. In K&H's opinion this is not a valid complaint and should be removed from our record unless the homeowner can produce a copy of that contract for our review. After speaking to the homeowner today, 8/30/2017, I confirmed that he guessed on the dates and amounts he stated in this complaint. He agreed that they are erroneous and outrageously exaggerated apparently to enhance their effect on potential readers."
peeling off and they came over and fixed it right away. However the best part is that they fixed the basement windows for me as well. K and H did not install them and they had not been installed correctly. I was very impressed that K and H would do this for me even though they were not their windows. Marion did a super job; he was very professional and punctual. Everything from the beginning including sales, installations, and repairshas been professional and I will continue to use them in the future.
The windows were mostly as stated and fit relatively well. If I had written this review at the time of installation, it would have been much higher. But there were some things that were not completed as stated, and several nagging problems that the company has not, and now refuses, to fix.
There was a set of 6 windows that were installed as one unit. The installation was completed, but several holes were drilled in the frames to screw them together, and the holes were never plugged. They said that they would send the appropriate plugs, which they never did. Also, one of the windows "whistles" in high winds due to air leakage, and we can't get it to stop. Not nice at 2 AM when you're trying to sleep.
But the biggest problem is that at least 6 of the windows have had the seals fail, and I suspect a seventh. When I called K&H to complain about the windows, they stated that the company that manufactured the windows was no longer in business, and they would not honor their full lifetime warranty on the windows. It was their decision on who to use for the manufacturer of the windows, and should be their responsibility on standing behind the warranty I *thought* I got.
In short, the company does fairly good installation work, but is somewhat overpriced for what you get. And forget about them standing behind their products if (when) you have an issue with the windows. Once you have finalized the bill, forget about them ever following up on any warranty work. Because trust me, once they have your money, they've forgotten about you! Which is why, when it came to replacing the rest of the windows in the house, a neighbor and I did them for much less with a much better quality window.
installation crew was very professional and finished a day earlier than quoted. When the building inspector flagged some caulking they returned immediately to fix it and we passed inspection the second time.
