Juxtaposition Hardwood

Excellent. Great team. All the workers were highly experienced. Todd, the owner, is very responsive and handled any concerns we had with a willingness to make it right. They were professional, did a great job and were great to work with. Highly recommend. The floors are beautiful!

The owner, Todd, came to the house, measured, and gave me a quote via email. I was on a pretty tight timeframe, and he was able to work me in. One of his guys (Robert) did most of the work. The floor came out great. Better than I was expecting. He had to do some extra work around a toilet in the bathroom, but did not ask for extra money. They have an outstanding vacuum system that captures almost all of the dust. It is so effective, Robert doesn't even need to wear a dust mask. I will certainly call Todd again when I need hardwood floor work.

Todd came out for a bid in a fairly quick timeframe. Bid was reasonable for the amount of work. The installer was punctual, meticulous and did really good work. Great attention to detail. Job was completed within promised time. Would recommend.

Todd and his team did a great job, they had difficulty removing the old prefinished covering , but got the job done and the floors look great, the old and new floors match great!

Extremely well. The schedule for the work was reasonable and each step of that schedule was completed in a timely manner. Materials were delivered as scheduled and carefully placed in my home. Baseboard molding and bannister spindles were removed, marked for identification and stored. The new flooring was installed and sanded. Todd expertly helped in the choice of stain color. When the finishing steps were completed and the molding and spindles replaced, the result was fantastic! The workmanship is top notch and the house looks terrific. I will not hesitate to use Juxtaposition Hardwood for any future flooring needs.

Todd at Juxtaposition was great to deal with. I had 4 highly rated bidders from Angie's List submit proposals, but Todd was the only bidder who had the right combination of knowledge, experience, and responsiveness. He also differed from the others in making specific recommendations on the type of product and installation details above the radiant heating system, and took the time to explain his reasoning, most of which was based on ensuring the floors would last as long as possible. Although he was not the lowest price, I believe you get what you pay for, and I was very satisfied that my money was well spent on Juxtaposition. Being from out of town, he was extremely flexible in coordinating schedule with me to allow me to paint the house, trim and baseboards. And most importantly, the quality of work was excellent. The new floors look amazing.

Todd and his crew were great to work with. He was reliable from beginning to end. Short story: 1. They showed up when they were supposed to 2. They were reliable, courteous and professional 3. They did an absolutely amazing job, the floors look beautiful 4. They cleaned up after themselves 5. The job was finished pretty much on time and on budget 5. Todd is honest and has a great work ethic Long story: We moved here from out of state and had no referrals for floors. I picked companies off of Angie's list. I took a leap of faith and hired Todd. He always responded to texts and calls and showed up when he was supposed to. He went with me to a flooring show room to help me with choices. He ended up referring me to Complete Flooring and I chose a pre-finished floor from them. Todd worked really well with the people from the flooring company to coordinate delivery and purchasing more product when we needed it. His guys are perfectionists and they did a great job on installation. We did have a problem with one room. Omar told us what happened (long story I won't bore you with here). They could have easily brushed it off and let us figure it out later after they had their money but they didn't. They showed us the issue and when we decided we weren't happy they fixed the whole thing no questions asked....they just did the right thing! How refreshing! They cleaned up at the end of each day. They were respectful of our home and our time. There were a few areas that were very challenging to work around ( a river rock fire place). Omar had to remove and cut rocks and scribe the wood around some areas. It looks amazing, he is a true artist and perfectionist. Thank you Omar! At the end of the job they left some trash that we were't expecting. My husband sent Todd a text and he came and got it...again no questions asked. He just apologized that they had forgotten to take it and swept it away. We would hire them again no question. If we ever need hard wood again I'm not sure I would even call anyone else for an estimate. Can't recommend Juxtaposition enough!

Juxtaposition Hardwood contacted us right away, came over to our townhome and explained in detail how they would perform the work, color choices, finish choices, cost, and lead time. I received an email quote from the other specialist and never received any information from the third choice. The second quote we received in the email, charged the same price as Juxtaposition to re-sand the floors, but added an additional $500.00 to put plastic up, clean up after sanding, etc. Because of Juxtaposition's clean method of re-sanding (dust collection from the sander meant no need to plasticize furniture, cabinets and kept our cost down) and the excellent references they received, we went with Juxtaposition.

Todd scheduled our work about 4-6 weeks from the time of estimate. One week before the final scheduled date, Todd came over to place some stain color choices on our floor for us to pick from. We found one color that was close to what we wanted but it lacked depth of color (not as intense in the wood grain, pastel-ly looking) as compared to the rest of the floor. Due to Todd's schedule, Robert, Todd's employee, came over and explained about pre-treating the sanded floor with water to open the wood pores and allow more color to be and quot;soaked upand quot; by the sanded wood. He resanded the sample area and showed us how this would look. It was like MAGIC! This technique gave us exactly the color and depth we were looking for. Thanks Robert!

Even though the finish used was a non-oil based finish, we decided to take a mini-vacation and spend a few nights downtown, while Juxtaposition did the work on the floor. When we came back from our mini-vacation, the floor was completely done, the house was spotless and floor was BEAUTIFUL! Thanks Todd, Robert and Zane for an EXCELLENT job! We will definitely recommended you to others.

A week had passed and no response. So I called and left a voice mail message with my question. After a couple of days, I texted Juxtaposition and received an answer right away. So the take away is to text first then try the other methods of contact.

Very reasonable price for excellent work. Robert and James were prompt, professional and personable. The sanding equipment kept dust to a negligible level, and the stains and finishes are water based and odor free. I remained in the home for the whole procedure.  It was also very quick work, the whole project being completed in under two days. I plan on having Juxtaposition do the upstairs floors in the future. I recommend them highly, but you do need to allow plenty of lead time in your schedule. I made first contact in late September, and the floors were done just in time for Thanksgiving.

Sanded, stained and finished approx 300 sq ft of hardwood flooring

From the moment Todd came out to give me an estimate I could tell he was very knowledgeable about hardwoods. He immediately knew what kind of floors I had in my 1880s house and discussed with me how he would refinish the various areas. He was prompt and professional. They got delayed starting a bit due to another job being extended, however he was responsive and communicated frequently. Once on site, his workers were thorough and the worked literally day and night to get the project done. The finished product is gorgeous--the floors look brand new! Would highly recommend.

Todd (and Robert) performed the work over a four day period which was originally scheduled for five days (finished ahead of schedule). I asked Todd for an estimate and received it within an hour. In reading reviews about having hardwoods refinished I had been concerned about lack of attention to detail and damage to baseboards and other areas surrounding the floors. I choose Juxtaposition for the job because of Todd's reputation for attention to detail, cleanliness, promptness, and minimizing damage to areas where sanding would be done. After having the work completed, I have to say that Todd's work exceeded my expectations and was consistent with the reviews I had read. After completing the work, I accidently walked on an area that had not completely dried. I called Todd worried about it and he mentioned that the fix was easy and made accommodating arrangements to come by and fix. I would highly recommend Juxtaposition for any hardwood service. Great job!

This project took a while because I added the basement bedrooms at the end of the project, and I was moving in soon after we began the floors in the upstairs of the house. We started in November 2013 and had to work around furniture and guests over Christmas.Todd was extremely flexible, working around what I needed. This meant that we took some months off in between because I travel for work. He also worked around days where I couldn't deal with the noise or the finish because I am a singer and had concerts.He helped me choose the stain color and talked me through the problems that came up (since we were retrofitting).Todd was a pleasure to have in the house, as was his assistant when he had one, and reliable in meeting expectations. He repaid my flexibility with his schedule by helping me with some extra things. Because he does the work himself, you know who is going to show up and what they are going to do.I would highly recommend Todd's work.

I was really impressed with the quality of the work and Todd's professionalism. The floors looked great. Todd uses water-based coating, so the smell was tolerable and you could quickly use the floors. The team left the place very clean after the work, which is so important for me. There was a minor issue with the screen door not closing properly, but I was able to fix that. Communication was great. I would definitely use their services again when we refinish the rest of the house. Thank you!

We recently had a remodel done which included adding hardwood floors to our kitchen. While the floors were installed good by our previous contractor, he did a horrible job with the finishing. So I called Todd and he was able to come in 3 weeks and completely redo our entire house's wood floors. I wish I would have had him install the floors to start because not only would it have been done right, but it would have cost less using Todd for installation.With our previous contractor the dust from the sanding coated the dishes inside our cabinets, with Todd's dustless system there was only a slight coating of dust on the countertop - night and day difference.The floors of course look great as should be expected, but the little things like touching up trim, helping move bigger furniture and no hidden costs after the quote make Juxtaposition a great choice for your hardwood floors.
