I would use them in the future.

Cut the grass.He asked me if I wanted to make a contract with him for every 2 weeks and I said no that I have been dealing with his father on about a 3 week basis where I would just give him a call because it depends on how fast it's growing and he made no comment but I gave him a check and he left.I was used to dealing with his father Mark but on this day it was his son Tony who did the work.A few weeks later I called his number and said I needed the grass cut again but got no return call.I tried again a few days later and again I never got a return call or my grass cut so I have given up on Tony Williams.I never had a problem with his father Mark who cut the lawn for about 3 years and I don't know what happened to him.

It did not

I called to setup an appt with Grasshopper (Mark) and he got back with me about a 4 days later. We set a time to meet and he never showed up, no call or heads up. I decided to move on then two days later he calls and asks if I still need lawn care performed. I say yes, we had an appt and you didn't show up. He apologized and we set up another time.
After the walkdown we discussed "his" labor rate of $30/hr, a little high for general labor but was assured of the high quality of his work. I asked him how much time we estimated to do the work and he answered three hours. Then we rounded it up to $100 for the job and I agreed. We scheduled a date and time for the cleanup. He no showed (2nd time) and called a couple days later to reschedule. He no showed again (3rd time), in hindsight I should have called and canceled with him altogether but I did not.
After not hearing anything for another couple days I called Mark and left a message. The number for the business is just a machine and all you can do is leave messages. He returned my call and assured me he would show up on to do the work. He did show up today and "performed" the tasks.
I was there when he and two laborers arrived, asked if I could be of assistance and he said no.I hung around to let them get started and then left. I came home an hour later and they were gone. So he spent approx. 1 hr at my house performing actual work. I called the number and left a message asking him to call me back and said the job was not to my satisfaction and I was curious on how he charged me for three hours.
Instead of calling me back, he came back to my home and "discussed" things with my wife. We has extremely rude to her and acted in a bullying manner about the work. She had just gotten home and didn't have any idea what he was talking about or that I had called him to discuss the work. Mark, that is why I asked you to call me!!
He then called me and was a complete jerk, kept saying your wife is happy, I am happy whats your problem. I told him to go look at the area on the west side of the house in the back yard by the shed. None of that area was addressed and still covered in leaves. While on the phone he said I am looking at it right now and it's fine. I asked are you in the front yard or back, he said front. I then repeated myself, i.e. the backyard/west side by the shed. He said okay and was going to hang up. I asked him to stay on the phone so there was not anymore confusion about the area. He found the side of the house he forgot :)
The other issue was billing and something that was more of a communication error. I work in construction and contracting, when someone quotes you an hourly rate and a time frame,  that is it. If your rate is $30/hr and you work three hours than it's 3x30=$90. Well, that is not how Mark bills I found out... Apparently his rate is $30/hr along with every other laborer on the job. So the fact that he did the work in less than an hour doesn't matter cause he had two laborers with him.
So, you can see why I was confused when I showed up and hour later and no one was there. I told him he may want to be more clear on how he bills in the future. His response was "I have been doing this for 20 years and never had a problem." At that point I quit trying to talk to the man. He continued to "educate" me on how he was right and that he should have charged me more time cause of the drive to the dump..... REALLY, I am not making this up.
So let's use "Mark math"  to calculate the cost of the trip to the dump   3(guys) x $30/hr x 1hr=$90/hr - - - Just making a point here.  FYI Mark-a companies hourly rate is just that, an hourly rate.  If the rate increases cause you bring help then you should make that clear during the biding process, as this is non-standard practice. If my sprinkler guy had used this method, I would have a 10K sprinkler system at my house, but it was only 2K even though five guys performed the work.
Bottom line is Grasshopper performed average work and it took a high amount of effort on my part to get it done. I will not use them again due to the lack of professionalism and ability to listen and follow directions (scope of work).

They are timely, they are fast. They get it done quickly as they said they would. I have used them before so this is their second time out to my house.

Mark Williams, the owner, and I had spoken on the phone a few times during this last week after my lawn tractor quit. He said that even though they were very busy he was going to get to our lawn and he came through on Saturday. The lawn looks great. He is courteous, has professional grade equipment and was much faster than I expected. He is going to set up a weekly schedule while I decide what to do about the lawn tractor.

Did good. Probably was a little too early to trim, but it worked!

Grasshopper has done an outstanding job with everything. The quality of their work is excellent and the attention to detail exceptional.  Yard looks great through out the season.

The owner, Mark, came over promptly after I called.  He charged us a reasonable fee for the clean up.  Even tho we are a bit out of his area, he took the job.  We have a small front yard, and to get to the back yard, they had to get the mower down the side of the house, which is rocky.  He did a great job all summer.  Nice to deal with too! Professional and friendly. They get an A+ from me!

quick, thorough, clean

I called and left message requesting a quote for lawn aeration and fertilization on April 19, 2012 at 11:29am. I never received a call back. Very disappointing.

They came and gave an estimate first. They showed up exactly when they said they would. Then they came back 2 days later when they said they would and completed the job. They removed trees, cleaned our whole property, aerated our lawn, and took away all the debris. Very happy with this company.

The aeration was actually performed a day earlier than scheduled ... which meant that we had not yet flagged the location of our sprinkler heads.  Fortunately, none were damaged -- but there could have been a downside to Grasshopper's hyper-puncuality,

Grasshopper's owner is very considerate,punctual and reliable.  He schedules the appointment soon after you call.  he brings enough workers to do the job quickly.  They take no breaks so that you get good value for the time they are there.

Excellent. Called them on the basis of Angies List rating. Very good followup. Work done (aerating) was excellent (compared to neighbors yard where another company did the work). Will be using them regularly.

I initially called Grasshopper in mid November. They offered to meet me at the house for a quote that evening, which was great, but due to a random snow/wind storm we had to postpone. After we were able to meet he had his crew out just 2 days later and had the work done in 4 hours. The crew was fast and hauled away all the yard waste. The yard looks nice & neat, and it is prepped for the winter. I will be using Grasshopper again in the future.

Mike and his crew were punctual. They arrived and worked non-stop for several hours the first day and then came back the next day to finish the job. They actually did more than I expected in terms of manicuring the property. They were real perfectionists. The yard looked so good that two different neighbors stopped by and asked him to come to their homes to give an estimate. Our property had become very overgrown over the years. The trees were hanging over the sidewalk, the bushes were crammed together with trees, cottonwoods had planted themselves in the lawn, bushes had beome too woody. Afterward our yard looked very well-groomed.

I was selling my house to move in with my husband and needed the lawn cleaned up before showing to potential buyers. Mark returned my call (a minor miracle considering other lawn services never bothered to respond) and had the yard cleaned up that week. I was so thrilled, I asked him to give us an estimate on my husband's front and side yards. His crew removed tons of overgrown plantings/weeds and pruned a couple of large trees. They hauled everything off. The yard has never looked better!

I pulled Grasshopper off of Angie's List because I wanted a local service with good reviews. Mr. Williams, owner of Grasshopper, came out to bid on the lawn service. He was very personable and I felt confident in hiring him. He arrived when he said he would and has been back every week since. The yard is really shaping up. I also recommended him to a neighbor and he has started work on her yard as well. I am going to pay him extra to get all of the weeds under control in the beds over the next few weeks. Overall, very happy with service and will keep recommending. I pay him $65 per week for a very large yard.

I hate yard work and had been lax in making sure it got done. As a result I had sort of a mess and finally got around to calling Grasshopper. The owner, Mark Williams, came out on a Friday to go over what needed to be done and by Sunday afternoon my yard was groomed to perfection! Work included cutting and trimming all trees, shrubs and bushes (I have a lot!), leaf removal, clean up of rock borders and hauling everything away. And this includes an area behind my house that had become a sort of jungle. I was so pleased that I'm going to continue to have Grasshopper maintain my yard on a regular basis starting this spring. I feel like a new person!

Easy and fast.

The yard was so clean, it looked like tweezers had been used.

Came a week later than promised, but did a very thorough job.
