"Dear Mr. [Member Name Removed]. I had let you know that the project would take appr. 2-3 weeks. Before you had added a few more days front a front railing. The project ended up taking about 21 days, and as always, we did not receive (request) any money up front from you...on your $41,447 of contracted services, so that they know that it is in our best interest to get the job completed in a timely/ high quality manner. During the project, there were 4 days that we did not have our team on site... 2 of the days we were running around the city looking for materials that were needed to complete the project. Post covid...there is less consistency from suppliers and wholesalers on what material is available and what is being shipped. The owner of Denver Decks stopped everything he was doing and was able to locate the necessary materials (after 2 days of driving to every supplier and respective wholesaler in the city )... needed to finish the project and he did this because it is the owner of Denver Deck'[Member Information Removed] top priority to serve our homeowners in all levels of management....to the best of our/his ability. The other 2 days, our team was not on site was due to an unavoidable sickness. Both the owner of Denver Decks and I called you, to explain the unforeseen circumstances and we expressed our deepest apologies and that we have made your project our number 1 priority and all of our management was doing everything that they could. Once the project was completed (5 days longer than expected) , your family ended up with a high quality, finished Deck, Pergola and landscape rail that will be enjoyed by your family for many years to come. I have seen the finished photos of the project, and it is beautiful. We provided your family with a high-quality finished product ...in a reasonable amount of time ...(the contract price was over $41,000 and we completed all work in under a month) ... and then we requested payment upon completion. (not a dime more than originally proposed). Sincerely, Paul - Denver Decks"
"Thank you so much for taking time to tell your friends and neighbors about how your project went and exactly what they can expect as well. Be blessed"
"Thank you so much [Member Name Removed]. We much appreciate your kind words and appreciate the opportunity to have been able to have served your family. Sincerely, Paul - Denver Decks"

"I can appreciate [Member Name Removed]'s right to complain, although I thought it could have been done through the correct channels and with clarity and full disclosure. [Member Name Removed] did not notify us in any way about this issue before posting a complaint here on Angie's List. After seeing his complaint here, we contacted [Member Name Removed] and he sent us several pictures that were quite telling. The pictures indicated clearly that the fire pit was not used by him as it was designed, but for a bomb fire (not in the pit per say, but piled way above the sides of the fire pit and burning at very high temperatures for an extended length of time). A professional Stone Mason (and a previous Chimney Sweep) told us that it would take a fire burning at 1500 to 1800 degrees on top of these 2" thick Flagstone Top Cap pieces for quite some time to cause this type of temperature fracture in several stones on the same night. At the bottom and inside in the fire pit (where the fire is meant to be contained - for public safety) we installed a lining of all fire bricks that can resist this type of use consistently for many decades, but the top caps of the fire pit are real stone (2" thick Flagstones) and are meant for aesthetics and function (for sitting on) purposes these are not designed for a burning fire surface outside the fire pit itself. Per the current Jefferson County and ICC Fire Codes and the manufacturers specifications, a fire should be maintained, attended, monitored and kept inside the parameters of the fire pit to function correctly and safely. Unfortunately [Member Name Removed] did not happen to mention this fact in his complaint. We are certainly willing to help [Member Name Removed] to remedy this problem."
They did strip both the front and back areas and applied sealant. After a few days the sealant started to turn white in several spots. We called Phillip out to inspect it. He didn't want to come out - he said it would only be a "social" visit. When he came out he said the sealant didn't gel correctly and they would have to re-strip it and then re-seal it again.
On that Monday, they removed all of our patio furniture and put it on the lawn and left. By Wednesday nothing had been done. We called to see when they would come back since the furniture was on our lawn and the lawn people were coming soon.
His subcontractor did came out and re-strip the back patio but in the process they damaged several flowers and shrubs. The owner never told us that re-stripping would cause the surrounding areas to be damaged. In addition, his subcontractor brought his 5 year daughter with him. The little girl sat on the patio for a couple of hours. Understand that it was in mid 90's that day and they are using loud machinery and chemicals to strip the patio. We felt sorry for her, so we brought her in. Basically we babysat his daughter while the contractor worked on the patio for 8 hours. The contractor never checked on her.
We tried to call Phillip to complain but he just hung up on and has not responded to us. We now have a striped back patio with no sealant.
We were going to have them put some new decking on another portion of our patio. But not now. Now we are taking legal action to get our money refunded.
This company is totally un professional and we would never use them again.
What a GREAT experience I had with Denver Decks! I have an extensive background in the construction industry, project managing build-outs nation-wide. I am very particular about the contractors I hire for my own home and even MORE particular about the work performed.
Denver Decks hit it out of the park on both counts! Paul gave a very competitive bid and sent Mike out to build the deck. I explained to Mike how particular I would be, and please give me a good job.
In the evening, after Mike had left, I would take my 6-foot level and squares, and check all the work. Everything was always perfectly done: plumb, level, and square. I could not have been more pleased. I even gave Mike a handsome tip when he left. It is really hard to find good contractors these days….and even harder to get a good job delivered to the end! I think good craftsmen need to be recognized, so I gave Mike a nice tip. My home is made out of stucco. There was even some stucco patch-work that was required and that was also color-matched and done perfectly!
Call Paul at Denver Decks…..You won’t be disappointed!
