Service and quality of Delta Disaster were inexcusably bad. There were a couple of good independent contractors, but overall this company was horrible to work with. We had two leaks where they did remediation and reconstruction. On one of the leaks, they instructed us to run the water so they could figure out where it was coming from and how to fix it. Professionally, this was negligent on their part and caused a significant amount of preventable water damage. It two months to get them to finally agree to take some responsibility. In the end, I suspect we ate all the damage given the final ticket price. Overall supervision on the job was horrible. Service was extremely poor with regards to communication, keeping the project going, being prepared with materials or for contractors to work. I spent way too much time overseeing this job because the supervisor did not and then he claimed I was interfering by having to do his job when he was confronted with negative feedback. They should have been on top of the job paid for and not left so much of it fall on us. I had to work very hard to keep things moving and doing things the supervisor did not. Some of the work quality was very poor. One of the biggest issues we had at the end of the job was that they did a lot of property damage while doing work, then they not bring it to our attention and would try to deny responsibility for it. I felt like they were trying to slide it by us and then they really gave us a hard time about fixing it. (Dents in walls, a lot of scratched wood work and trim, messy finish work, carpet stains, carpet with ragged edges and not fully tacked down, scratched and pitted furniture from them moving it and putting objects on wood without protective layers, an unsightly carpet patch job, using a damaged piece of carpet to do a repair rather than the new carpet provided, etc.). At one point, the supervisor told me to prove it when they stained my carpet. The supervisor also told me it wasn't his job to oversee his contractors or their quality of work - he said that was my job - and his only responsibility was to coordinate them showing up - which he didn't do well either. He also yelled at me at length for indicating that the job had not gone well. It was a blaming, deflecting, irrational tirade. He was very unprofessional, I was shocked and had to end the conversation by hanging up and contacting my insurance company and mortgage holder as to ensuring that the job was completed and damages they did were rectified. Since there were here all the time for months on end, I asked them to check a problematic window for us. They never did and never even responded. Thank God, in hindsight, so I didn't have to deal with them more. Delays were horrible. This job was strung out over 9 months and should have taken around 2 from my experience building 2 homes previously. The worst was over the supervisor trying to pressure me to use his contractor and carpet brand rather than get an appropriate match - two months of delay here and a lot of work for me to get carpet done. They waited two days before we left for vacation to do wood floor color selection - big choice for a home - this was stressful and a battle to try to get enough samples. They had over 8 months to do this! When the issues and conversations were brought to the owner's attention, he did not do enough to rectify the situation. He pretty much left us with the horrible supervisor. I put my foot down and said that we would no longer work with that supervisor. He was also supposed to send out the supervisor's boss. I waited all day from 8am to 2pm for this guy and I had to finally check to find out he wasn't coming. Finally, after all the time they have wasted and trouble we have had with them, they are threatening to lien our home because final repairs and punch list are delayed by a couple weeks by our vacation and a college trip. Like we should cancel or rearrange significant and expensive plans to do their punch list after all their delays? Really?!! After all they put us through?!! That was the last (unprofessional) straw! I wasn't going to bother with the hassle of this long review, but finally was pushed over the edge to take the time to warn others. Horrible service, communication, and quality control. They did not communicate or coordinate well and completely failed to over see the job and keep it on track in a reasonable manner. How they treat customers - failing to take responsibility for damage and blaming the customer and yelling at them when they are confronted with not doing their job or doing damage - is absolutely inexcusable.

First of all they were late and needed directions to my home even though they should have at least map quested or googled my address. The insurance adjuster was waiting for them to arrive. The inspection went well.  But then, I found out that after they inspected my damage they went to my downstairs neighbor to tell him that my utility closet flooded so therefore, his place might be flooded as well and gave him a business card so they could fix the maybe damage.  I was infuriated that Chad took it upon himself to tell my downstairs neighbor. I found out that this was wrong for him to do. I called my insurance company and told them what Chad, from Delta Disaster Services had done and they stated that was completely wrong for him to solicit business like that since they were not hired to notify my neighbor. The supervisor of my insurance company said he was going to in fact called the vendor and may not have this company as one of their referrals.

I had no insurance coverage for the loss. They wanted $500 to see if I had asbestos. I told them the drywall was 5 yrs old and had no asbestos. They said the had to remove the drywall, gave no estimate except to say it would be expensive and that it could take up to 6 weeks. When I wouldn't do as they requested, they pulled their equipment.

Service people spent a total of 5 hours. They did haul away rugs and other wet material

Repair work was done well and they ensured we were satisfied. They would return without question to better clean up debris. Our insurance company caused delays and Delta worked with us as best as they could to keep the repairs moving along.

Delta was ok to work with.  They required half the payment up front.  They would sometimes show up unannounced to do some work or preparation.  They were not very flexible or super easy to work with.  The workmanship seems to be very good and it turned out well.

The timeline took much longer than expected.  They did not finish until September 2012.  One of the subcontractors was very rude and condescending.  I asked him to leave.  The work had to be done twice, because the subcontractor didn't care about quality work.  They need to evaluate their subcontractors.  I was not pleased by the entire process.

We are not satisfied with the service. The team that did the demolition did a good job, but team that came out to find out the core issue did not. They have had to come out several times. I would not recommend them.
Response from Delta Disaster Services
"Dear Member, We are very sorry to hear your experience with Delta Disaster Services have not met your expectations. We did receive direction from your insurance provider to inspect your damages and we were able to successfully repair the subsequent water damage. It appears your grievance lies with our inability to determine the overall cause of the moisture which had entered your home. While understandably frustrating, we realize it may sometimes take a series of investigative steps to locate the exact cause of damages, especially where water is present. We apologize that we were unable to determine this within your expected timeframe. We hope the measures we have taken to this point alleviate the possibility of future leaks. While we respect the feedback you have provided, we urge you to allow the investigation of the cause of loss to continue, whether it be with our company or a fellow BBB A+ rated restoration company. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you wish to discuss this further."

They were absolutely incredible. We had an old home and they found asbestos in the basement, asbestos style so we had to go through the whole asbestos in the basement routine. We thought it was a $10000 job but it only costed us a $1000, which was remarkable. They kept us informed. The people who came in were polite and they were very professional and neat. They took all the precautions they could possibly take to protect the rest of the house. They did the work the way it needed to be done in a very professional manner and our basement was about half finished. Now it looked better than it did before the flooding. Therefore, they were actually very good. In terms of their quality of service, it was absolutely perfect, wonderful. In terms of responsiveness, they were always there when I called, they were 24/7 operation, so whenever you pick up the phone they were there. In terms of punctuality, they were always early. In terms of professionalism, they were absolutely wonderful. Their customer service was excellent. They were wonderful.
