Water Heater - Install or Replace
Outrageously expensive

I am a property manager. I used to use AAA plumbing quite a bit. But their service is getting worse and worse. My this week's experience was terrible. The technician showed up and simply told me that his blade got stuck. So something serious is going on. Then he recommended me do $2,500 jet cleaning. Luckily I didn't believe it. I got another plumbing company out there in one hour. Pretty honest. But I wont say their name in order to show the authenticity of this review. THey did in one go and unclogged the sewer pipe. That simple. SO BE VERY CAREFUL AAA PLUMBING SAID THAT YOU NEED JETTING. IT IS A SCAM.

20 year warranty on water heater installed 2010 not honored since another reputable company was used a couple of times to do maintenance Never returned my calls for replacement after it failed or discuss a new installation so that I had to call again after 4 business days to get a final answer.

I regretfully need to warn others about AAA Service Plumbing Heating and Electric. While I was out of town, we had a water leak and called AAA. They convinced my wife to sign off on the replacement of a water heater at my home which was allegedly broken, costing me over $5k. However, upon my return, I realized that the power outlet the water heater was plugged into had been damaged, and the water heater may not been broken. My many attempts to obtain any documentation or proof of the necessity for such an expensive service have been completely ignored. My home insurance would potentially cover the damage if it was part of the leak, but AAA told my insurance company it was just due to wear and tear. This is unlikely given the water heater was less than a year old. The lack of communication from them post-payment raises serious concerns about their business practices. This isn't just about the money; it's about trust, reliability, and professionalism, all of which were severely lacking in my interaction with them. It's disheartening to experience this level of service from a supposedly reputable company. Customers deserve transparency and honesty, neither of which I received. Please be cautious if considering their services.

If you want to be overcharged, lied to, have them use scare tactics, and bad mouth their competitors to get your business, than this is the company for you. If you hire them to install a furnace and water heater and charge you $14,555, with 9.99% financing, this is the company for you. If your inspection fails and they do nothing to reach out and fix their mistakes, then by all means hire them. One of my biggest regrets in life is ever calling this company and having Mike Valencia come into my home, look me in the eyes, and assure me, "You're getting a great deal" makes my skin crawl. Mike, would you say that to your parents, children or a family member who needed a furnace and water heater (they didn't need) would you still make that same claim? I think not. "Low price guarantee", challenge accepted!!

Kris came out to diagnose hammering in the pipes whenever our sprinklers came on. There were a few possibilities to fix it and Chris relentlessly tried each until the issue was resolved

Well not as great as I would have liked only because I have the old galvanized pipes but Ashton Grable worked hard and did all he could and then some to get it to open all the way! He was very polite and informational! Just a great worker and professional! I will so use this company again and refer them to friends and family!! I give them a 10+

Charged $2099 to fix a leak on a kitchen sink that took approximately 90 minutes and required ~$30 in parts. Took full advantage of me not being there at the time, described a problem and a job that sounded much more serious and involved over the phone, and thought that serious work had to be done on the stack leading down into the basement. Service fee: $49 Charge to pull out dishwasher to access the area: $742 Replace 1.5" pipe section behind dishwasher: $748 Replace kitchen sink p-trap: $192 Reconnect kitchen disposal drain: $368 To say we feel taken advantage of just doesn't even come close, this was dishonest communication and atrociously overpriced work, especially since it's trivial to pull out the dishwasher to access the area.

I used AAA for air conditioner maintenance. I guess the only thing I can't really comment on price because I didn't really shop around. They may be expensive, they may be cheap.. They got out here pretty quick and fixed my problem. That's all I can ask for.

It was a switch that had worn out and had shredded the line through a chandelier. The short did a lot of damage to the chandelier. Fortunately it did not fry the frier. She was very thorough. She checked everything to make sure the wiring was good. Cleaned up where there had been damage. The switch worked with the chandelier. She double checked the ceiling box to make sure there was no damage there. Made sure all the wires were properly insulated and that there was no damage that way. She replaced the switch, cleaned up the box, made sure everything was right where it was. I really liked her. When I call them again, if she is still with them, I will ask for her. I still have her card. She left the connections where it was easy to spot. She said she would be more than happy to come and put a new chandelier in. But she set me up so I could do it.

I like what they do but every now and then, I did have an electrical issue where the problem got fixed but the electrician didn't know what a double throw switch was and that scared me a little. If you have three switches for a light in a room, you can go to any one of them and you flip it one way and it comes on, and you go to another one you flip it the other way and it goes off. He didn't seem to know what those were and that scared me a little bit. While he was there he was replacing an outlet that had gone bad, so I survived him. Otherwise, their service has been very good. I would rate it an A if it wasn't for that yo-yo. I’ve had other electricians through the years and they’ve been top of the line. They’ve been A, they knew what they were doing, they listened to the problem, and they solved it. Every now and then you get one of those guys where he’s gotta be the smartest guy in the room. He got it right but I didn't like the way he went about it and the fact that he wasn't as knowledgeable as I expected. The company itself was responsive. He came when he said or when they said, it's just the way he went about it. I was uncomfortable with his demeanor. The idea was to bring him in so the house didn't burn down and I stood over him to make sure that wasn't gonna happen. He was knowledgeable enough, but I just didn't like the quality of the work he did. He didn't locate the box properly. I had him to actually take the box out and pull it out so that when I re-drywalled it, the drywall would attach properly. The box was too far back. Se he did say when you get ready to drywall give me a call and I'll come back out. I just wanted him out of the house by then or I would've said why don't you put the box where it belongs now. I just wasn't happy with him. I would use that company again; I would not let that electrician back in my house.

The cost was part of an overall service plan that I have with them. I would say free but we know that when you pay for a service plan it's not exactly free. They did come out and they do an annual check of the furnace and so on to make sure everything's clean and operating correctly. The furnace wasn't properly vented with a double vent, and they picked up on that because that's tied in together, and they spotted that and they changed that out for me while they were venting the water heater. For quality, well, the house didn't blow up. They did take me down and pointed everything out, and fortunately the furnace is in very good operating condition. They showed me what they looked at to make sure it's clean and there isn't any corrosion or any deterioration in any of the components, and the fan and all that stuff, so they pointed all that out and actually showed me the evidence that it was in good shape. They don't just come upstairs and tell you bye. I can say this - I think they've gone out of their way. They ran into some real public trouble because they had a couple of guys who were not being quite truthful with the condition of certain furnaces, i.e. trying to push new parts, new components, that sort of thing. There were technicians coming out and they were kinda scaring people into thinking things weren't right, and one of the news stations caught up with them, so they've been about watching their P's and Q's very carefully since then to try to kind of clean up that mess. I gotta be honest - if they told me there was something wrong I would have gotten a second opinion before they did anything with it. Let the buyer beware! But in my case, it's been straight, it's been honest, they've been punctual, they've done all the right things that I look for in the service they provide.

I paid a little bit more for a twenty year warranty on anything that goes wrong with it. In fact, they double checked it when I had the furnace cleaned years ago. For punctuality, A; they came exactly when they said. Because we removed an old solar tank that was down there - it was like a 150 gallon tank and it had been in there a long time - what they did is, I don't have solar hot water right now; all the plumbing and stuff is there to re-do it. But they had to drag that tank out and for a short time there were three guys here to pull that tank out of the way, and then essentially it was two guys that put in the water heater. And I think one, to be honest with you, was probably an apprentice learner. He was an extra pair of hands. But one guy was in charge of what was going on.

The following morning around 7:30 am, I received a call from an employee at AAA advising that the soonest they could get a tech to my home would be between 12:00-2:00pm. I agreed. Around 10:45 am I received a call from a tech named Ken M. advising that he'd finished a job early and was available to come to my home around 11:15-11:30, if that was ok. Ken arrived, evaluated the situation and had to replace the pipe going into the water heater. There was no charge because the water heater was still under warranty. Ken helped me to confirm that the warranty information was transferred from the previous owner to me. Ken did a great job. I was very pleased with how AAA and Ken handled my emergency.

I have a contractor that comes out the first of the year and the end of the year. It’s AAA Plumbing. The guys that have come out have always been so helpful and have always explained things to me. I would assume that they are about the same as others, their pricing seems to be good for me. They’re here right away.

It went fantastic. I have lived around the country from Philadelphia to Honolulu. AAA is by far the best I have found. AAA has done a number of jobs for me since I moved into my new condo. Yes they are EXPENSIVE! But then they are the only firm that you can call at 6:00 am and have someone out that day. As to installing a toilet, I told them I wanted a particular model and lo and behold, the next day they had located it in a supplier's warehouse, got it out, and installed it. Further AAA has a detailed price list. Ask and you will be told ahead of time, how much it cost to do anything. Should you use AAA for everything. Certainly not. If you have a good handyman/handywoman use them for the small stuff. If you can afford to wait a week or two or three, try someone else. But if you need same or next day service on anything and use AAA. If you simply want the best, use AAA.

My father, a Purple Heart WWII vet with dementia, was charged over $800 to remove his old toilet and install a new one. Price didn't include the new toilet, since we had already purchased a new one from Lowe's. Regular price for this job is about $200. Beware seniors!
