Manicures/Nails
My 13 year old daughter and I arrived as walk ins to the salon we usually went to, to find new owners on their grand opening weekend. We thought we would give them a try. I had the spa mani-pedi grand opening special, and my daughter a spa pedi special. Even though we were the only ones there, it took a considerable time for services to be performed. The young couple who appeared to own it and the mother of one of them were the only employees present. The young man did not help with spa services, but was doing airbrushing of a poster in the salon, which left the two other women, the older lady appeared inexperienced. My daughter received a very brief spa pedi from the older of the two women, and the design and polish job were poor. As soon as she finished my daughter she rushed over to me and plopped my hands in some lukewarm water and did an extreemly basic manicure, with little lotion, massage or attention to detail. She then applied the clear polish to my nails (I did not want color), and she applied it so thick that it looked gloppy and like something that a kindergardener could have done a better job at. They also tried to overcharge what was advertised as their special. I pointed out that we had asked for the grand opening special, and she wanted to argue about it. I ended up paying her more than their advertised special and less than the original she had wanted to charge me. It did not seem worth arguing about the poor quality of the manicure, as she was not receptive after the discussion about the advertised spa pedi we had requested and the amount we were charged. By the next morning my nail polish was either marred from being applied to thickly or outright peeling off. I have not returned and would not recommend their services based on my experience.
