Walt and his assistant were on time, friendly, got the job done, charged a fair price and cleaned up every spec of dust before they left.

Our house was built in 2004, and our original landscape lighting was installed in 2005. By 2012, most of the original landscape lighting was no longer functional, and we met with Walt to get a quote to bring our outdoor lighting back online and to update it to current lighting technology. Our original lighting used Low Voltage lights that were difficult to find replacement bulbs for, and Walt suggested updating to current LED alternatives that used less power (saves $) and also was cooler than the light fixtures we had in place. For other existing specialty fixtures, he was able to provide new bulbs to get everything up and running again. He was able to use all of our existing wiring, and his quote included troubleshooting any wiring/fixture issues we had for various reasons (e.g. gardners broke certain fixtures or cut lines, etc.).
After reviewing our needs outside, I was embarrassed to ask him for help changing a couple of lightbulbs in our entryway. We have high ceilings in our two story house, and the entry way can light fixtures were 26 feet up. The original long-life bulbs had burned out over a year earlier, and our efforts to change the lightbulbs using a telescoping lightbulb kit that we got at Home Depot were a miserable failure. The bulbs had been screwed in so tightly when we bought our house, we simply couldn't get to them this way, and the result was a dark entry way for at least a year! Walt suggested replacing the existing can light fixtures with CREE Ecosmart LED can fixtures that had a 15 year life and used very little electricity (again saves $!). He said he could buy the bulbs for us and provide a quote for the installation that was inclusive of the cost of the bulbs; however, he said if we purchased the bulbs directly from Home Depot (or any vendor that sold them), he'd just charge us his hourly rate to change out the fixtures. Throughout the rest of our house, we had been going through compact fluorescent bulbs like water (even though they supposedly had 7-year lives), and we decided to purchase 40 of the LED can light fixtures and replace all of the can lighting in the house! These lights were a great value, we noticed an immediate savings in our electricity bill, and the light they provided were far superior to the so-so compact flourescent light bulbs we had been using.
Walt performed all the work himself, along with another junior person on his staff. We were very pleased with all aspects of the job, and we would use him again the next time we need work of this sort. We also felt his price was extremely reasonable given the size of our yard, the number of outdoor fixtures that were replaced (parts and labor), and the amount of time he spent indoors on the can lighting and other electrical repairs.

Walt responded very quickly to our request for service. We set up a date for him to come over for an estimate and he answered all of the crazy questions we had with a lot of patience. He was very informative and definitely made us feel like he had been in the business awhile and knew his stuff.
Once, we agreed upon the services and price (which was for less than what we had planned) he told us he'd be able to get the job done before a 50th birthday party we had planned the next weekend. This was the most important thing to us.
Walt arrived first thing in the morning, and, while his team was a bit late, he started up right away with the smaller stuff that needed to be done so no time was wasted. We really appreciated that.
The patio lights, flood light and outdoor sconce lighting was all done in what seemed like no time at all. We thought it would take all day! I had to leave the job under the watchful eye of my significant other, but when the job was done Walt called me at work to let me know how everything had went and ask if I had any questions. We were very happy with his work and so were our party guests!
We'd definitely use his services again in the future.

We spent approximately $150 on that service. They did what they were supposed to do and we thought that the price was fair.

They are fabulous people. We called him in the morning and he was there that afternoon and tweaked it up. The price was reasonable. They put in a new socket and rewired the lighting fixture. He's very good, he does a lot of walking through and sometimes he will make suggestion. He doesn't try to dis-sway you but he does give you information so you can make intelligent decisions. He would tell me if what I have is adequate for what I want to do instead of just trying to make money from extra work. It's an old house from the late 1950s so I had him add more lines.

He was very nice and didn’t even charge for the call. The outdoor light wasn’t working and it wasn’t the electrical issue. The light bulb was faulty and he changed it. He came the next day that I called. He said that he would come out, but then called and informed me that he would come after his lunch. It was nice that he at least called.

They were very responsive. I thought the price was fair. He was a nice guy. He asked me a lot of questions. He did very clear research on the property, pointed out a few things which I hadn't noticed, and asked if I'd like that done, and obviously I did. I was very, very pleased.

Walt and his assistant Pedro are consummate professionals: they completed all of our projects on schedule and on budget, and were always prompt, neat and courteous. During his initial tour of the house, Walt asked us probing questions about our electrical problems and made several useful suggestions which reduced unnecessary tasks on our to-do-list. Walt also advised us on different types of lighting for the bathroom and wow, were we amazed with our new recessed light. All in all, we were very impressed by Walt and Pedro's thoroughness and how much time they took to do each job right the first time. Everything was just as we expected and more -- like perfect stucco patching and detailed labels for each circuit breaker in the electrical box. It was a real pleasure working with Walt and we highly recommend Walt Wegner Light Systems, Inc. for any electrical project.

Found Walt on Angie's list and called to make an appointment. Left a message on his voicemail and received a call back the following day or so. Walt squeezed us in for an estimate on his way to another job. He was right on time and was completely willing to listen to what we needed. (He took notes the entire time.) He would listen carefully, ask a few questions and occasionally make suggestions regarding the placement or type of the lights, switches or outlets we were considering. His ideas were invariably better than what we had considered or thought possible. Within a week, Walt sent the estimate via email as he said he would. The estimate was detailed and clear. Within a week, Walt and Pedro were here to complete the work, which took about 2.5 days. The guys worked steadily and didn’t seem to get flustered or annoyed by some of the oddities of our old house. They cleaned-up after themselves very thoroughly and did some very fine patch work when they had to open a wall and when they moved a switch. All the work is much better than I expected, and the improvement the lights made to the house make Walt worth his weight in gold.

Walt came out and suggested some ground lights and some overhead tree lights. He seemed very knowledgeable and made good notes of the front yard. He asked me how much I wanted to spend and I said no more than $1500.00. A few days later he called and told me what my $1500.00 would get me. I said OK and a week later he and his assistant spent a few hours installing my light system.

The work went very well. Walt and his team arrived at the scheduled time. The majority of the work was completed on the first day. When they encountered an issue with the plumbing surrounding our dishwasher, they made a recommendation to have a plumber come out to install flexible hoses, so that they could pull out the dishwasher to access the electrical behind it. After the plumber finished the work, Walt and his team came out to complete the installation of the GFI outlet in our kitchen. We were very happy with their work. Walt is very good at returning phone calls and e-mails. The estimate that Walt provided was lower than the other two we received. It was a great experience and we would definitely hire Walt again.
