were able to come out that morning. The technician
arrived at the time he said he would and he diagnosed the problem: it was the opener. I was given a price for a new part however, the
technician advised me to put the cost of replacing the part into replacing the
opening mechanism. I was given a good
price on a new LiftMaster opener that has a lifetime warranty. The technician had the opener and was able to
install it in a couple hours.

The new garage door arrived on time and we scheduled the installation for the week after Christmas. All the work was done professionally, exactly as promised and on time. We were very please with the attention to customer service exhibited by all the employees of Viper Garage Doors.

Backstory: My old garage door opener started acting strangely. I actually did troubleshooting on the phone with the manufacturer. It was determined the unit needed to be replaced.
When Viper came out the first time, the technician did everything he could in order to fix the unit rather than have to replace it (trying to save me money). When he left, it looked as if it were fixed, we tested it repeatedly and it worked great. I was thrilled to not have to replace the unit.
Several days later, the unit did fail (it was a faulty circuit board - wouldn't hold the program - which is what the manufacturer has suspected but couldn't confirm without testing the unit in person), but I still appreciated the effort on the technician's part to save me money. He returned and tried a few things, but it was determined that indeed, the unit needed to be replaced. I asked if I could apply the money I'd already spent toward the new install, and he checked with his supervisor and they did. This, to me, is awesome customer service in an age and area when it seems like there is none.
We ordered the unit I wanted, and he came back to install it, and did a fantastic job. A few days later, I thought there might be a problem, and so he came out again and tested it and showed me that the operation was normal (the belt looked loose to me, but he explained that it can't be too tight or it puts too much stress on it and can break). Every single time Viper came to my house, they sent the same technician, something I appreciated! He was respectful, cheerful, and got the job done. They never complained about
having to come here four times to complete the work.
The total cost was mostly the cost of the new unit, plus a thorough lube and adjustment of the existing components (rails, spring, sensors, hinges). Overall I was happy with the price, and the service. They guarantee their work, and cheerfully and quickly respond when you think there is a problem.
For me, it's not just about getting a job done, it's about standing behind your work, and Viper really does that!
