I met with owner and he went over all the details of the work and provided me with a quote. He examined the rooms...kitchen, living room, family room, dining room, stairway, and office.  He clearly explained the process, provided me a copy of his insurance coverage, and a written estimate. He performed the work as he promised. The crews were respectful and took care of my home. They work hard and keep things clean and tidy. They arrived exactly when they said they would and took great care to do the prep work such as laying down the drop cloth, taping plastic sheets over windows and cabinets, They also worked late when necessary to meet my schedule because I had to move out of my home. I like the fact that he recommended me to break down the job one step at a time for me to feel comfortable and perform really well. My home is a condo and we have an HOA. TLC works with me to meet any HOA's requirement. I would highly recommend TLC to anyone!

overall, the project went smoothly , the roof need to be fixed and reinforced in a few areas to hold the panels.  the panel installation went rather quickly. they need a few inspection by the city. however, the thing that took the longest was the utility company coming out to do the final inspection before the panels can be switched on. which was out of their control. so in the meantime they painted my home looks amazing. almost brand new.

Everything with the roofing portion and the installation of the solar panels went find. I had no issues. They had to get a permit from the city. The job was complete and panels were turned on and working for about 4 days. The project manager came out and said panels had to be turned off because Edison did not authorize them being turned on.

The job was completed on August 20 and I was told the paperwork was submitted on August 24 to Edison to get the solar panels turned on. After they were not, I contacted Edison who said they received no notice from TLC Home Improvement.

In addition, when I inquired about a $2000 credit that was in an advertisement in the Angie's List magazine (for any job over $8000), TLC Home Improvement refused to honor it.

I feel like I'm getting the run around. I paid $20,000 for something I am unable to use until they say I can turn them on.

My husband and I needed to do some painting to our home by UCLA, we decided to rent it out to some students but the last time it was painted was 15 years ago. so we called a few people and found TLC and they caught our eye almost immediately. they did the complete outside and inside of the house. they did an amazing job it took about 2 weeks for the whole project because we had things to move around inside the home. but now it looks like when we first bought the home. i will definitely use them again.

We were wanted to change the look of the house. so we decided to switch to a tile roof instead of shingles. We called a couple places to get some quotes. All had a lot of good things to offer,  but not the color I wanted. Then I saw a sign for TLC in front of a house and did some research on here and other sites. Decided to call them, the office personnel were very polite and were very detailed. 
They sent John out to meet us, he was very knowledgeable and had lots of samples on hand. He took measurement and sat with us and explain what needed to be done in order to switch. He brought exactly what we asked for when we spoke to the office.
I wish it was a little cheaper but it was what we wanted.
John told us that the job would take no more than 4 days, The demolition took about a day. The crew was very respectful and cleaned up after themselves. they replaced any wood that was damaged and laid the tar paper the second day. and the third they laid the tile roofing. they finished a day before expected and everything turn out great. there were no leaks during the rains that came soon after.
i would definitely use John and TLC again.

WHICH WAS THE WORK I HAD PLANNED ON DOING.  HE DISCOVERED THE FAULTY FOUNDATION UPON SEEING THAT THE HOUSE WAS BEGINNING TO LEAN.  THAT WAS THE FIRST THING I HAD TAKEN CARE OF.  AS THE WORK PROGRESSED  I SAW THE CALIBER OF WORK AND THE RESPONSIVE  AND CARING  MANNER OF GIL M. AND GUY B.,  I EVENTUALLY ADDED THE REST OF THE WORK .  I HAVE BEEN MORE THAN HAPPY WITH THE ENTIRE JOB.  ALL OF THE WORKERS WERE UNFAILINGLY COURTEOUS AND WILLING TO PLEASE.

THE AMOUNT PAID IS APPROXIMATE, I DIDN'T CHECK MY RECORDS.  THEY ARE ALSO VERY HONEST.  UPON FINAL
ACCOUNTING, THEY DISCOVERED THAT I HAD OVERPAID AND REFUNDED A CHECK TO ME.

THE LAST DATE OF CONTACT IS TODAY BECAUSE I ADVISED THEM OF A PROBLEM WITH THE OUTSIDE LIGHTS AND
TRUE TO THEIR PROMISE, THEY SENT AN ELECTRICIAN WHO FIXED THE PROBLEM WITHOUT CHARGE.  THE JOB WAS
STARTED LATE OCTOBER AND FINISHED LATE DECEMBER.

I PLAN TO USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN SHOULD I NEED MORE WORK ON THE PROPERTY AND RECOMMENDED THEM
WITHOUT RESERVATION.

Their work is sloppy. They still have not come back to finish their work. I have called numerous times in the last couple weeks and still have not heard anything back. I would not recommend them.

My wife and I desperately needed a new roof, we noticed in the last rain that there were water spots showing up in random places around the house. So we started calling around and looking online with for a good contractor to help us.We called about 3 different places for estimates they were really outrageously priced and to be honest it felt like they just want our money. but I saw TLC's reviews and also knew someone who has used them before. 
We set up an estimate which was FREE, the office personnel were very respectful and not pushy at all. I told them what i was looking for and they mentioned that they also provide solar systems. Now I've  interested in solar for a while, especially since my daughter and her family is staying with us. Our electricity bill is almost triple what it was before they moved in. I agreed to hear what they had to offer. 
Alon came out and sat with us for about 3 hours telling us the many different ways we could do the roof and also to see how big of system we would need. it turns out that the roof was about $3,000 less than all the other estimates we had received. The solar system was not as bad as i thought it would be as far as cost.
The total estimate was $41,000 for both. the roof was $13,000 and the solar system was $28,000 i also would get rebates for the solar and also tax credit from the government. so i said ok lets do it.
i gave them a deposit for the job and within a week Alon and his crew were busy at work. the crew was very respectful to my property and to my family. they always let us know when they would be showing up and leaving.Before they started installing the solar, i looked at the job they did and i have never seen my roof look this good.
When it was time to install the solar (which was a week later) they informed me that it required a series of inspections by the city and the utility company. And that's perfectly ok. I would rather have everything by the book, than have it done half asked.

My wife and i needed to do something with our house. We decided to do the kitchen and bathroom, which has not been remodeled in what seems to be 50 years. The layouts of the two rooms were not the problem. It felt like i was a flower child trying to bring back the 70's. so we decided to do a face lift instead of tearing everything out and starting from scratch.
We found TLC and had them come out to take a look. the rep was very respectful and honest (which was humorous and appreciated). He agreed that our house was trapped  in the 70's, So he showed us many different options and materials, it took about 2.5 hours to do this. Mainly because we a very detail oriented and amazingly so was he.
we decided to start the project. with TLC. i would have to say the messiest part was tearing off the old counter. the crew made sure that everything was covered and sealed off, so that the dust stayed in the kitchen and bathroom.
it was surprising how quickly the projects were progressing. while they were waiting to receive the granite, they started sanding the cabinets down and staining them. by the time they installed the granite the floors were done and the cabinets were being sealed.
they actually finished a couple days early then planned. they did warn me that there may be some drawers that will need to be adjusted after the cabinets settled with the new countertops. after a couple days we did notice that some of them needed adjusting. all i did was call TLC and they sent out someone to fix it.
All in All TLC did an Amazing job on our house... Thank you!

As I mentioned above, great crew. Quite happy with the guys signed to us, lovely friendly people with very capable project manager, Steve. Quite experienced guy with years in business behind him and still full of energy and detail oriented. They were doing great while I was there and as they finished everything in the schedule I must say they did great overall. I'm quite happy with them. Roofing went off pretty fast. Routine work for them and happy feelings for me. New look was rising up day by day. More happy feelings for me and my family. We barely felt such a big project on our house but they were moving out old pieces and bringing new step by step. Very efficient. That would sum it up. Great experience with TLC.

The Jon went very well, work was done in very orderly professional manner.  There was one a minor issue that was reworked with no problems. I highly recommend TLC, I will be working with them again in the future.

The project manager was very nice, and most importantly they were not pushy. That is rare, compared to the other companies that came out and bid. That's why we decided to go with TLC. The project manager was there everyday. He answered all of our questions and concerns.  The guys were very nice. When the job was done, I thought there would be a little clean-up after they left. I was surprised to find not one trace that we had the roof done. The clean-up was amazing. I am and will definitely use TLC for any more projects that I have.

The price was well over $12000 for the roof and I also got a couple of things done. The job went well. They did a good job. They were very accommodating with everything I needed. So I was impressed with that. They were pretty quick and I have no complaints. I didn?t get too many other quotes and so I don?t know about their price. They were pretty punctual. Their responsiveness was pretty good.
