Installation was during a messy major remodel. Tim forced the General Contractor to make the correct provisions to ensure the tank would be properly installed and be as earthquake safe as possible. He stocked it with my favorite African Ciclids and has done impeccable maintenance. He checks the temp and ph each at every visit. He has troubleshot problems with the lights (due to Edison's flaky power), installed a whisper quiet pump/filter and a thermostat controlled heater that works winter and summer.
Tim is as honest as the day is long, and thorough, and reliable, and SO easy to deal with.

The problem began when, I have to assume, Tim decided he didn't want to work on my pond.
When he was here, he told me he would need to put together the filter, which consisted of bags of sand in a plastic container, in between his other jobs so it might take some time. Okay, I said, thinking to myself that I can live with that because I am happy he is going to create an environment that would help us keep our fish healthy. I look forward, I said to him, to setting up our monthly schedule.
However, he never built the filter. And although he responded to the first couple of very polite texts I sent him about when he might be able to come back, he then dropped off the face of the earth. No response to texts. No response to calls. Nothing. I am not an angry person, so I never sent him any kind of pushy or angry texts. My last text to him began with, and quot;I don't mean to nudge...and quot; I never called and complained. I just waited and waited, thinking--no, hoping--that this wasn't true. That he had not just bailed on us. But he did. I even asked him on a phone message to tell me if he had decided not to work for me, so I could move on. Nothing.
Here was a guy who had so many A's on Angie's List. So I went back and looked up his reviews. And there, at the end of the list of good reviews, was a review from someone who had had exactly the same experience as mine. I have to admit that if I had seen that bad review at the beginning, I might have thought it was just the reviewer. That he was a complainer (no offense to you, sir, if you see this) and everyone else must be right. But he isn't a complainer. And neither am I. We both were left in the lurch.
If you are looking for a pond man, read all the reviews, because this one may know his fish, but he is a terrible businessman. And, frankly he makes me question if his positive reviews are real.

- Used Angie's List (first time user and quite satisfied w/ assistance from Angie's List representative).
- Found Tim, from and quot;Tim's Aquariums and Ponds.and quot; He is the Owner and Operator.
- Tim came to the home, gave us not only a free estimate, but also what I would consider a consultation. Very friendly, personable and down to earth person.
- Never rushed through any of our questions and was always attainable via phone after having initially met and prior to his return to conduct and complete the work.
- Explained each step of what he was going to do and why. Very accommodating.
* Noteworthy: I do not have a super expensive pond with tens of thousands of dollars of plant life or Koi fish. However, I do have a very nice pond in a well manicured and taken care of setting, with a variety of fish, to include some Koi. I have no doubt that Tim is and quot; The Man,and quot; for all Pond and or Aquarium service, repairs, or new builds from the ground up.
I would not hesitate to contact Tim again if I had any questions, concerns or possible repairs that may be needed. I am definitely keeping his contact info on hand for future reference and I would also recommend him to others!

Tim came right out and listened to my ideas and he had even better ones! We worked together so easily to figure out what I wanted exactly. We clicked right away....so easy to get along with and full of life. He really knows his stuff. I had a quote from other people and they were much higher than his. Needless to say I wasn't ready for my project at the time but WILL DEFINITELY BE CALLING HIM BACK TO DO IT!!!!

After years of having to manually turn the waterfall on and off, we now have a functioning timer-controlled waterfall. In emails describing the problem, I included the model # of the timer, so Tim was able to arrive with the correct part. Tim charged $100 for parts and $60 for labor, perfectly reasonable rates. Tim is knowledgeable, professional and a pleasure to work with.
Thanks to Angie's List, I now have someone I can call when I need help with the pond.

We had a leak in our pond, which another person had tried to fix unsuccessfully. Tim came out and took the time and effort to discover the source of the leak, and explained exactly what was needed to fix it. He ran into some unexpected trouble, but was still able to overcome that issue and repair the pond in such a way as it will not leak in the future. Over all a very pleasant experience despite the circumstances. Tim was very professional and meticulous.

After we had to change the initial appointment date, Tim arrived promptly at the agreed upon time in the morning. After inspecting our pond, stream, skimmer, pumps, and waterfalls thoroughly, we agreed on a price (in this case between $350 and $400) and Tim got to work. He worked quickly and knowledgably, paying attention to the well-being of our Koi fish as well. He "revived" the pump that had stopped working, cleaned the skimmer, filters and stream. Rearranged the stones along the stream and inside the pond and pumped out a lot of mud. He also explained to us why we were having an algae and mud problem with the pond. He told us what to pay attention to when servicing the pond ourselves on a regular basis. In addition, he was even able to replace a bad electrical GFI plug for us and installed a weather-proof cover for the outlet as well. Overall, this was a very good experience for us. Tim was knowledgable, friendly, reliable and had a good price. He also followed-up with a phone call the next day. We can only recommend his services.

Had a problem with my Koi pond and was facing the possibility of losing the fish. Called Tim early in the morning and he came right over assessed the issues, gave me solutions and corrected the problem.

While we worked with Tim we ask him to expand the pond. Tim came up with a great plan completed the work and gave us back a better than expected Koi pond..... Tim is meticulous....delivers beyond expectations and was always reaching out to keep us apprised of where in the process he was. Couldn't be happier with his work................
