The job started with planning. We knew we had a lot to organize. I liked the way Royalty planned my project. Every detail was well organized before we even started. With this good plan they started the project. During the project we had a lot of communication with the project manager. He gave weekly updates. They also coordinated with my schedule. And, well the job is complete now, and I would like to express my satisfaction of everything that was done - that's why I've taken the time to write this review.

On the positive side, they started and finished in a timely manner, and they gave us the best price of the contractors that bid. On the negative side, the craftsmanship was in many instances very bad. For example, the roof they put in has been leaking (when we pointed this out they wanted extra money to fix it), the surge pipe from the kitchen was left sawed off in the kitchen wall, new electrical wires under the house were installed in a hazardous way, the bathroom drains are not tight but leak, and detailing, for example the stuccoing under the eaves, looks shoddy. Further, they were unresponsive when their subcontractors stole jewelery and a video camera from us.

Royalty Remodeling Inc. did a great job. My wife was at home most of the time they were working. The project lasted about five months. They were great at cleaning up after themselves.

Never got an appointment for an estimate - person who called was prompt and polite and I assume following company protocol when she would not make an appointment for free preliminary estimate unless "my husband" was also there. I told her I would not be doing business with Royalty. I have rarely encountered such open sexism.

AFTER ONE YEAR OF TRYING TO GET PERMITS AND PLANS APPROVED, THE WORK HAS FINALLY BEGUN. THE CONTRACTORS ARE PERFORMING AS AGREED. THE PROGRESS (TO DATE) MEETS ALL OF OUR EXPECTATIONS.

IT WAS NOT PLEASANT. IT HAD BEEN AFTER ABOUT FIVE MONTHS THAT THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM. I HOPE IT WAS DONE WELL, BUT I CAN'T TELL YOU ABOUT THAT UNTIL IT RAINS.
