The job was done quickly, and I was able to pay electronically with my debit card. Later that day I received an emailed receipt (my preference) which included a description of all the work that was performed, and digital photos of the leak and repairs. All in all, I was very favorably impressed with this company, and the respectful way they conduct themselves. I will definitely use them again, and have already recommended them to my neighbors.
NEXT DAY, someone called and left a msg saying they'd come by the following morning 10-12. I took time off from work. I received a call AT 12PM (!) saying they would be late 1 hour. I WAITED 4 HOURS! Finally they called again and asked if I'd like service at my home. These people are nuts or they hate Angie's List Customers.
I was charged for 3 hours of work when plumbers only worked 1 hour and 15 minutes.
I was charged for $60 in parts when only $23 of parts were installed. And they had the nerve to tell me that it was "Mark-up". Profit Mark-up is 1 to 2%. NOT over 100%!!
I was told I'd need 2 plumbers to install a kitchen faucet because the faucet was **SPECIAL** and required **SPECIAL** installation. This was a regular faucet. Just a single-handled sprayer.
The 2 plumbers that arrived - THIRTY MINUTES LATE - (AND I was charged for THAT TIME AS WELL) - ONLY one plumber spoke English. The other - the one that did ALL the work - he spoke only Spanish.
The 2nd plumber I was charged for acted as a Spanish to English translator and handed the real plumber tools. THAT'S ALL HE DID.
I only called this company because of reviews on Angie's List. SO SORRY TO HAVE DONE BUSINESS WITH THEM.
I was told that I could have a **FREE ESTIMATE**. John Miranda came to my home -- AN HOUR AND A HALF LATE -- and gave me what they termed ** AN ESTIMATE **.
This is NOT an ESTIMATE. PLEASE BEWARE. This company will over-estimate and then refuse to resolve a discrepancy in that
"Estimate".
I am a woman. A new homeowner. John Miranda came into my home and took advantage of the fact that I didn't know what installing a faucet involved. He DRASTICALLY INFLATED the time necessary to install this faucet.
The plumber had my old faucet out and the new faucet secured in my sink/counter in TWENTY MINUTES (originally estimated to take THREE HOURS). They then installed an air gap and a soap dispenser which took only THIRTY MINUTES MORE.
After the **FREE ESTIMATE** outlined a plethora of "Needed parts" the plumbers arrived LATE with NONE OF THE PARTS. The plumber(s) then left my home for 30 minutes to go shopping for another part (costing $16.70) and BTW I WAS CHARGED FOR THEIR SHOPPING TRIP AS WELL.
They returned and hooked the faucet up to the hot and cold water, packed up their tools and left within 25 minutes.
Even when they arrived at 8:30 for a scheduled 8:00 appointment, went on a 30 minute shopping trip for 1 part, and finished the job at 10:15am -- Even IF I'm charged for them being LATE and SHOPPING, They STILL DID NOT SPEND THREE HOURS ON THIS JOB. AND THIS COMPANY CHARGED ME FOR IT.
Kitchen Faucet (old one out / new one in) 20 minutes.
Air Gap and Soap Dispenser installed 30 minutes.
Shopping trip for 1 part 30 minutes.
Hot and Cold water re-hook up to new faucet 25 minutes.
Actual Work done at my home -- 1 hour 15 minutes.
BE AWARE OF WHAT YOU ARE GETTING INTO WITH THIS COMPANY.
Also, I called NUMEROUS times to speak with someone, and all they do is avoid. No returned phone calls. Their dispatchers are RUDE AND AGGRESSIVE.
I sent an email outlining everything clearly, and what my issues were. A week later, they sent a reply saying they'd reviewed the dispute and they stand by their charges.
Any company that refuses to speak to you about work done or charges incurred KNOWS THEY ARE WRONG.
I even waited a few weeks to post this review, to give them the opportunity to resolve this. They just stonewalled me. The dispatcher says someone will call me and no one ever does.
They have also threatened me with legal action for disputing these UNPROFESSIONAL BUSINESS PRACTICES.
"We reviewed the home owner’s claim and has found that we gave her a very fair price for the work performed. We gave her a contract, with a written estimate which she signed. We kindly request that the home owner re-send the payment cashier’s check in the amount of $450.00 for the original contract amount plus a $35 cancellation fee for the check she cancelled. We advise all potential customers to get three estimates. Our policy is, if the home owner provides us a written estimate by a licensed plumber, we will meet or beat the estimate by 10 %. Unfortunately the customer, signed a contract and all contracts are final. In the state of California all home owners have a three day right to cancel. The customer initialed and understood her rights. Unfortunately we will be unable to satisfy the customer request. We will be enforcing her contract and will be standing by our policies."
I highly recommend their services.
