Alarming Security

Overall, things went flawlessly. A couple of the sensors malfunctioned and Jeff had to come back and replace/reposition. To tell you the truth, I've had Jeff install alarm systems in two houses now... I don't know where his prices fall but they always sounded fair enough that I've never sought other bids. Prices are one thing (and I definitely care about them) but other aspects to Alarming Security are even more important to me. Jeff is a one man show... he bids it, he installs it, he fixes it if it breaks. So many contractors take care of the "sale" then have someone who you've never laid eyes on before come out to do everything else. Also, Jeff always feels more like a friend coming over to do the work. He's not interested in trying to sell you unnecessary security features. Obviously, if you are having alarms installed you want to make sure you've covered all the bases to prevent/deter someone from breaking into your home. It's very easy for an alarm installer to oversell unneeded security features because you are in full paranoia mode. It seems to me that Jeff told me what the options were and then put them into perspective. i.e., "no one would break into a window that size on the front of your house so why don't you save yourself some money" or "you can put in Glass Break Detectors here but you probably won't realize much benefit because you already have motion detectors here and here"... Jeff is very respectful of the house and property... no banging ladders around, no sawdust or materials left behind, he even takes his shoes off if he's going on to a carpeted area. You might think that all of that is pretty basic but I've had enough contractors and subs through here in the last few years to know that people as conscientious as Jeff are few and far between.
