I talked to the owner and he said he needs to charge these rates to cover his expenses. I think what he meant to say is that he needs to cover his expenses and his huge profit margin. He also said we could have said no to his quote. Yeah, good point and I wish my 80 year old mother would have had the courage to say no and get this snake salesman out the door as quickly as possible.
Don't bother with this company, keep looking for a reputable company that charges reasonable rates without the games.
He started out well--putting on booties to protect carpet/floors, assessed the situation and informed me of what he thought the problem was and how he was going to fix it. He then stated that he was going to write out an estimate and be back. HE SAT IN HIS TRUCK, in front of the house, FOR 30 MINUTES. It could NOT have taken 30 minutes to write up the estimate he showed me! I wouldn't of been so upset if he had at least stated a time frame of when I could expect him back. He brought in a shop vac to deal with the water in the drain--it began making a horrific noise and smoked up the kitchen with a horrible electric smell. It took two hours to complete the job, finally leaving the house at 7:30PM!!!
"This review just doesn't add up. The technician on this job is one of our most complimented by consumers on a regular basis. This is also harsh treatment from a customer who had already spoken with our Service Manager and received an agreed upon refund and meeting of the minds. Why would someone complain about a legally mandated break mixed in with filling out all the California State License Board required paperwork. Especially given the late evening hours that are all in overtime by law. We were called to fix and clean up a horrible mess. We didn't create the problem or the mess, we were invited into the home to take care of it and a price was given up-front, and the consumer signed our contract agreeing to the price. "I have reviewed your service request order from May 2011, which was a no charge courtesy bid. Our technician understood what you needed and wished to do. He presented you with two prices. The maintenance contract we use is used to save you money. Once you become a member, the member price is used for service you need and it is always less expensive than if you were not a member. You do not have to purchase this service contract.We simply explain various options and it's up to you to decide. ."
"I have reviewed your service order from 2/10/2012, This was a courtesy bid,This states the homeowner has a leak. The technician found the leak at the ground floor toilet angle valve supply line, one pipe unit. Our technician gave you our bid to drain your home and replace it. He also gave you a bid to change out all one pipe angle supply lines in your home. This was not just replacing some toilet parts, it was much more in detail and labor intensive.. We simply explain various options and it's up to you to decide."
"I have reviewed your service order from 9/21/2011. Upon arrival our techician found that your garbage disposal and dishwasher to be clogged. The garbage disposal was currently leaking. He also found you had hardwater throughout the house. He gave you a summary of findings worksheet, and his recommendations. The summary of findings worksheet is for you to review and talk over with your technician. We simply explain various options and it's up to you to decide."
"I have reviewed your service order from 4/5/2012, It states from our technician upon arrival he found the upstairs toilet was backed up. You thought that we would do all the work for $89.00 minus a $50.00 coupon totaling $39.00 to do the work. The $89.00 is the special price. You cannot combined specials or coupons together, and this is also stated on the coupon and explained when you call the office for the appointment. I do see that he presented you with options, . We simply explain various options and it's up to you to decide what you want and wish to do."
