Frank H Painting

Frank did a great job, but the communication to finally get the job done was rough! He came out and gave me an estimate on all of the work we discussed needed to be done, which went well. But after that, I left messages and emails for him and I didn't hear anything back from him for a week. Then he called back and we setup a date to start, and then things we discussed in the estimate, he said were not included. That was frustrating! He eventually lowered the price on the estimate, but then trying to get the job scheduled was a difficult task. He was supposed to start on a Monday, and that didn't happen. So I called him again leaving a couple of messages about what happened. He finally gets back to me saying he was still on another job, which had bad cell service. He did quality work, was I finally got him here to do it.

Very hard worker. Was on ladder with mask in hot weather for hours. Got the job done. Excellent work.

First of all, Frank and his son were really nice people and easy to work with. They did professional work on my badly rusted iron fence and chipped and faded garge doors. Then, Frank went beyond this and power washed my garage and some plaster pillars on my house. They took their time and made the whole place sparkle. I'd hire them again in an instant. I believe Frank gave me a very fair price too.

The job originally started with just house exterior trim. Frank came, inspected the job, and explained all that he would do in detail. The next day he presented us with a fully written bid/contract for $2950. He only required a 10% down payment to start work within a few days. Frank showed up with one or two assistants each day and supervised as well as worked on the job himself each day. He and his workers were meticulous in prepping the trim, first pressure washing, then sanding the old paint often down to bare wood, then priming, and applying two finish coats. We were so impressed by the quality of work that we then decided to have him paint two outdoor wooden benches, our wrought iron deck railings, and finally our deck surface (we have a large deck that wraps around a large part of the house). Our deck has a special Dex-o-Tex surface, and Frank contacted the Dex-o-Tex company to have their quality paint shipped to him to use (he didn't even suggest that we just use some Brand X deck paint). Our basement door was another job we added to the list. The door had been damaged due to weather exposure over the years; the bottom would always get wet in the rain and suffered from dry rot. Frank suggested replacing the wooden door with a metal-faced door, and since the lower part of the door jamb was also damaged, to buy a pre-hung door with surrounding casement. This door turned out to have superior sealing, but was just a scosh taller than the old door. Frank was very ingenious in enlarging the door hole to fit the new door and now the new door works perfectly. All in all, Frank H. was meticulous and very easy to work with. We will be calling upon him again to work on our floors.

Frank power-washed the house and even cleaned the gutters which we hadn't done in quite a while. He also cleaned the concrete on our back patio. We were so pleased with the job he did painting the trim and the entire gazebo that we had him come back a couple of weeks later to paint our aluminum garage door. The paint on the garage door had faded over the years and when touched it looked like chalk on our fingers. Frank did an excellent job and it now looks brand new. We would not hesitate to hire him in the future.

My experience with Frank was easy and seamless from start to finish. He is very pleasant to work with and has a friendly demeanor. He and his crew completed the work in a professional and timely manner. They arrived at the appointed time each day and worked a full days, straight through, until the job was complete. They also were conscientious about cleaning up each day. The trim on my home had alot of peeling paint and exposed wood and they did a fantastic job of sanding and applying primer to prepare the wood for the paint. The finished product looks wonderful. Overall, I am very pleased with the work of Frank H. Painting and I will recommend them to my friends.

We contacted a few Angie's List companies for estimates to paint the exterior trim on our garage. In addition to the price, what we liked about Frank was his great attention to detail. He pointed out many areas on our garage that needed minor touch-ups. All of the touch-ups were included in his price for the job. On the day of the work, he showed up on time with his partner. They both worked a full day, and we were very happy with the results. Once we save up enough to have our house painted, we will definitely offer the job to Frank.

They finished on time, cleaned up, and quickly patched an area that had been missed. I and my tenant are very happy with their work. I initially received bids from 2400 to 10,500, and solicited bids until I felt I had a good picture of the market. They spoke good english.

They were good and did a good job. I have had them do some work in December too. They call back sometimes - I am sure they can do much better if they are more responsive. We manage an HOA. I have never interacted with him on the job site; in fact, I have never met the guy but have just talked to him on the phone. He was courteous and everything. It is one of the board members who talks to them. I don’t know if they show up on time. The price is kind of high. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

Everything went fine. I have never met the guy, but from what I heard, he is knowledgeable. From my experience, I found the customer service to be good and the quality to be good. His price could be a little higher or in line.

Frank and his assistant worked at least 7 hours each day. They thoroughly prepared the house for painting. Sun had badly damaged the paint on the window sills. They sanded the window sills down to bare wood, checked every inch of the eaves and every wall of the house for old damage, some that wasn't actually visible to the eye. Any old bubbled paint and worn areas were removed and patched/rebuilt. Frank took 5 days for preparation prior to painting. The woodwork was primed and given 2 coats of paint. The house was also given two coats of paint. When it appeared that the color I had selected for the front door did not match the color I had selected, Frank went back to Dunn Edwards after work and determined that they had mixed the wrong formula. He had the problem corrected with no additional cost to me. He also installed new double locks on all my doors. At all times he was on site and explained to me what he was doing and answered any questions I had. Every night before leaving the area was swept clean. His work is meticulous. All my screens with covered with plastic during painting and there were no paint drips anywhere. He returned after the painting was completed and spent the day making sure everything was completed perfectly. I plan on having him paint the interior of my house in the Fall.

He lets me know when there are problems and he will voluntarily repair things that need to be if he can do the work. He is very clean and never leaves any mess behind. He does very wonderful work and he is a very nice guy.
