Sepulveda Lawn & Garden

At first our yard looked great, but after six months, the quality of work gradually declined as Aaron cut corners to expedite our yard service. On several occasions, the weeds in the flower beds were neglected. By the time we ended our business relationship of 1.5 years, the yard have become overrun with gophers, half of the grass became infected with a fungus due to excessive watering from incorrect irrigation run times, and other sections of the grass and flower beds began to die from lack of water because of faulty valves.
The company had also been hired to clear and regrade our backyard and install a zero property retaining wall. We had both discussed with Aaron on several occasions what we had wanted, which sadly was not what we had received. What was supposed to be a two day job took over two months and was done incorrectly. The yard was not regraded properly because Aaron rented the wrong equipment, and the retaining wall was not only installed incorrectly, but after consulting two separate landscaping companies, we had discovered that the building materials were not rated for the type of job that was completed! Furthermore, our patio door was shattered during the job.
We only continued to do business with Sepulveda Lawn and Garden as long as we did because we did not have time to find an acceptable replacement between our hectic work and school schedules, but when we did, we spent a large sum of money just to fix the neglect that our landscaping had endured. This company prides itself in its ability to communicate with its clientele, however it would take days to receive a response by phone or email, and in some instances we received no response at all.
We were also very frustrated with questionable bookkeeping. Under contract, we were supposed to receive an invoice by email on the 25th of each month, and more often than not the invoice was received late (in some cases shortly before the due date), and for several months received no invoice at all! There had also been instances where we were incorrectly billed; we were charged for fertilizer on our December invoice, which under contract was supposed to be applied to our January invoice (we had been informed that they were changing their billing policy, despite causing a breech of contract). Furthermore, they had attempted to bill us for our last month of service, even though this had been paid in advanced when we had first signed our service contract in 2011.
I would not recommend this company under any circumstances, because the quality of work does NOT justify the price. Aaron Sepulveda is not even skillful enough to provide basic "mow and blow" services, let alone the list of landscape services we were promised.
