Angie?s List did not provide the reliable referral that I expected. My experience has been a negative one. 1) I hired someone from Angie?s List who did not perform what they promised they would do, sent out as many as six different gardeners, and sometimes didn?t even show up. 2) This company was recommended by Angie?s List. 3) An Angie?s List representative could not help
me since no one from Angie?s List had apparently vetted this gardening company; something I had ?assumed? had been done. Angie?s List only had a phone number, and had no idea where the business was even located.

I must say that I am disappointed in Angie's list for posting the great reviews Juan Garcia's service has garnered. I even checked out the Band of Neighbors' reviews. Here's what my experience has been within two months:
1) Yes.  Juan came to my house on time to discuss the job.
2) In two months, I have had four different workers (not Juan) come on to my property to do the work. He is not the person doing the job, as I had initially understood. What this means is that what I discussed with Juan was never communicated to the four workers. The first month, they didn't even show up every week as was the plan. When they finally arrived a week late, I was told that they thought that it was a bi-weekly job, not a weekly one.
3) When cutting my small backyard grassy area, they left so much debris (rocks, dirt, leaves, grass) in my pool and spa that I had to remove the water from the spa to clean it and use a vacuum to clean the pool. I learned that their lawn mower bag had a hole in it. Despite patching it up, they still leave a lot of debris in the pool when they use their blower.  
4) Although I was promised that they workers would be at my house between 12:00 - 1:00 pm on Fridays, they usually arrive at 5:00 - 5:30 pm. At 2:00 pm on Friday, I called Juan and left a message.  He never got back to me. When questioned as to why they hadn't arrived at the earlier time, they said that they didn't know that they were supposed to be here earlier.  I was told that they had other jobs to do that were not in the area.
The last straw happened the last Friday of the second month when the workers once again failed to arrive at any time on Friday. Of course, I called Juan Garcia and left a message. He never got back to me. The workers finally arrived on Saturday morning and did their work. This is just not acceptable. We seem to be an after thought. Perhaps his business is just too busy to take care of my needs. 
I expected to be able to find a better gardener by using Angie's List, but the truth is that I found someone who contracts out the work to people who don't do quality work, are not punctual and don't even show up sometimes. Yes.  I am disappointed and will be looking for someone else.

I found them on Angie's Landscaping. He charges me $80 for the month. The service has been fine. I am not usually here, but I think he comes with one other guy. They leave the area fine. He does what I need him to do, and that stands out. I would recommend them.

He’s the best gardener I’ve ever had.  He took out a fence and put it in the dump, but he didn't charge me for that.

They have been GREAT! If I need extra done they will do and price appropriately. VERY reliable and professional!

Angel has been doing work for me for about eight years. He has been working for me even before he went out on his own and started this company. He does extra things for me and he never tells me that he can do it all in one hour because you can't. He is very dependable. When he comes for the first time, you can go around the land tell him what you want done so he knows what you expect of him. I pay him monthly. He takes care of my yard and so I don't have to be out there every week unless I see something that has come up since the last time he came, so I tell him something and he looks at it. When I asked him how much he wants to be paid an hour and he said, how much ever I want to pay so I don't know about his regular prices. He is partial to older people, like one time, he sprayed my trees, so he does extra things, so he is very good. He does yard work for three of my friends and he does it cheaper for one of them than he does it for me but she has a mobile home and I have a big yard. They heard me saying about how good he was and she got him too, so I have given him to four women. What he does is good enough for me, I wouldn't say it is excellent but it is good. For maybe somebody that is more finicky, I don't know. We have a good relationship together. One time, I could get a ride, I needed to get to a hardware store and I said I need a whole bunch of things from the store and he said, and lsquo;Margaret, I will take you to the hardware store', his wife came and got me and took me to lunch, so we have a friendship. He is just an all around good guy. He comes on time and stays as long as he needs to get the job done. If it is not the time to fertilize, he doesn't do the fertilizer and if it is not the time to clean the bushes, he doesn't do the bushes. For me, he is here on Fridays and I don't care what time he gets here as long as I know what day he is coming.

He's really great. He charges me only $50 a month because I have a small lawn but I think he goes higher to about $70 or $75. He's not that expensive but he charges me less. He's really friendly, really flexible, he will help you if you have heavy plants or if you need something moved. I think he does above and beyond what a landscaper would do and he also cuts trees. He's just really a nice person, I trust him, I can give him a key to the gate and I'm not worried about anything, he locks it up, and he's really responsible. He's wonderful. I'm very happy. I have recommended them to my neighbors. He's really good. He's really a nice guy, he's really professional and sometimes he has another guy working with him or he'll bring his wife, they're very courteous, they're very nice people. I've had him for about two years and my neighbor has him for about six years, that's how I heard of him.

He mows the lawn and does my gardening upon my request. I saw him doing my neighbor’s place. He does a nice job. I told him that I wanted the bare minimum work done. So, he does that. However, he does some little extra things at times. So, I like him. His wife, Monica, does the business along with him. They have a separate number if you want to speak in Spanish. They come twice a month and do a great job. I pay them $25 for two visits a month. They are supposed to cut the grass and tidy it up. Every once in a while I notice that they do a little extra, which is nice. If my trash can is out, they roll it back in for me. I never ask them to do, but they do it anyway. I don’t know much about them. Their card states that they do refertilizer and pre-estimates. They do sod work, cement jobs, walls, and fences as per their card. They also do party rental tables. They have not broken anything. They come out when they are supposed to. They have always done what I have asked them to. They are not flaky and they are responsive. They close the cat doors. They never complain and they have never left it open. I will continue to use their services in the future.
