In July, 2012 our all-home air conditioner, which we originally installed in 1997, was not blowing cold air. This had happened once before in July, 20010 and we called had the original installer and he was able to sent a repairman to fix it. By 2012, or original installer had retired and we needed a new A/C repair person. Mr. Valdavino, "The Air Conditioning Guy" had received many positive reviews on Angie's List and he was local to our Pasadena area.
He was, of course, busy, as this was the height of the Summer heat. Because of the good reviews on Angie's List, and because he had been so gracious and informative when I had consulted with him on the phone in 2010, we decided to wait out the week in the heat until he could schedule a visit. We are very glad we did. I believe he did a very thorough job in evaluating the problem and repairing the unit. It has now been five months since the repair and the unit is working fine.
Although $800 sounds like a lot for a repair, much of this cost was because of the high cost of "freon" for this older A/C unit. Mr. Valdavino spent several hours on the repair and had to return the next day to complete the job and be sure there were no longer any leaks.
He was pleasant, courteous, knowledgeable, and neat in his work and attire. We will definitely call him again for a repair and/or installation of a new unit when the need arises.
