My husband and I recently got married and are expecting a
little one soon. We purchased a new home in Orange and it was
what you could call a fixer upper. The home was
built in 1966 and was all original. We didn't have much money to do a
remodel but the house was unlivable for us.We called out about 10 contractors
using the help of angie's list and friends. The bids came in to
$100,000-40,000. We luckily stumbled upon RSR Construction when we were
looking for an affordable architect/ designer to draw up the plans to get
better bids. The designer (Rafael) was very reasonable and asked to let his
family construction business put in a bid. Not only where they the lowest
bid (out of the 5 received) but they had the shortest project time and
were also the most responsive, flexible, and seemingly trustworthy people we
interviewed. They came in around $36,000. I checked all their
references to ensure it was not too good to be true and all their
references said wonderful things about them and their work. My husband and
I both have full time jobs which meant there where many times we contacted
Rafael late at night and on the weekends. He always made us feel like we
were not a bother even though I?m sure we were. My husband and I are not
very knowledgeable in the construction area and they were honest and
helpful about everything. They even taught us in the process. They were so
amazing they even worked on Saturdays, Sundays and late into the night so
they would be done on time. We changed so many details and they were so
accommodating to our needs. They even let us purchase the materials and
gave us money back if we were able to get something on our own cheaper.
My husband and I shopped around to get the flooring and whatever we could
at a savings and this really helped the budget. The workers are all one family
and they were there every day. The home went from the ugliest in the
neighborhood to the best looking. Our neighbors are truly amazed! The best
part is that every single thing about the house is how my husband and I
wanted it. We felt like they really cared and wanted us to be happy no
matter how much more work it would be for them. There were two change
orders involved during the process and having every line of work itemized
really was helpful for us. They cleaned up so well the home was cleaner than
before they started the project. RSR Construction was so flexible and kind
to work with. They did everything high quality and to the detail.
 Once we have the money we will be calling them out to redo the
kitchen and bathrooms. It really was the best experience and my husband
and I could not be any more excited to show off our beautiful new home.
