I always go to him because he's the most convenient person to go to. I always have little things come up in my house. Twice before, I had broken pipes. I called him and he was able to respond in a reasonable time and bring all the stuff that he needed. I would absolutely recommend him to others. Sometimes, he asks me to provide the materials, but certain jobs, he'll get the material himself. I chose the garbage disposal myself and went to pick it up. I like his work. He's pretty neat, and he tries to keep the area clean and free from any unnecessary dust or anything like that. He's mindful of that. I don't expect him to come right away, because I know he's probably working somewhere else, but he responds reasonably soon. He's on time and knows what he's doing. I feel confident in his work. One time, I had trouble with my phone lines not working, and he told me doesn't work on the phone or electricals.

He’s just an independent person working as a handyman.  He does a good job.  I’ve used him before.  I have a pantry and I had to pull out shelves that kept falling down.  So I went to the local Lowe’s store and picked out a metal that’s covered with a plastic type of thing, which can be installed and it doesn’t roll out.  It’s very strong and it holds up.  I can see through the mesh of the shelves even though they don’t go up you can see underneath them. So they work out very well and he did a very good job.  He installed it all.  He likes me to go out and shop for what I want, and then he does the installation.  I called him back after he did the pantry.

The provider did a great job for a reasonable price.I would recommend him to anyone in need of a general handyman.

Overall we are satisfied with the job. However he left the epoxy to dry between applications and we needed to buy more material to finish the job. Otherwise it was job well done.

DO NOT use this handyman. He did show up for the estimate on time and gave a decent price so we decided to go with him. This is a one bathroom house with a very small bathroom. He told us it would take no more than 3 days. WE WERE AT A WEEK AND A HALF and he still had not finished. He started off ok for the first 2 days and then he would give me a time and not show up until 3 hours later, 2 days were no shows at all, and then another 2 days he would come in the very late afternoon and stay until 8pm - I don't want a handyman working in my home while trying to end my day! I was showering at my mother's house for more than a week. And using toilet at her house!! Lucky she lives close. He did install the toilet on day 4 but I had to reach into the tank to flush it because he didn't 'connect' things. Then, I stepped on 2-3 tiles before it was dry and he made a HUGE deal out of it and charged us an additional $150 to fix it!!! A handyman neighbor came over and said that was utterly ridiculous and it was a 5 minute fix. The worst thing was HE DID NOT CLEAN UP AT ALL ---- AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He left the place, inside and outside a HUGE MESS. During one of the last days he sat in his van outside for more than half an hour on the phone. I asked him if anything was wrong and he said no - just that he was lining up new jobs. Additionally, there was a slight language problem but better if you speak spanish. He is a very nice man but TERRIBLE HANDYMAN - I took pictures of how bad he botched the bathroom. Paint, caulking, paint on the ceiling, paint in the bathtub - you name it. I regret the day we found him. Like I said, 'nice guy, horrible workmanship on every level'. I would be happy to talk to or send pics to anyone who wants. Hate to see others get burned by this jerk.

He was okay. He did a good job. He's very punctual, right on time. He came by when I wasn't even there and called me right away to look at it. He handles it and he's right on the way. He's professional.

It went fine. We had to pick things up from the store a couple of times. He brought his son because I had a wood panel in the back of my pantry that had come loose and he installed a piece of wood on each side of the pantry to make things more secure.

The team leader checked with me several time to seek my approval. The trees were trimmed to my satisfaction. They were experienced, professional, and had all the appropriate tools. They cleaned up all the debris. I would definitely hire Vargas Tree Service again.

I called Raul on the Friday evening before, at about 6:00pm. He promptly answered his phone. I explained what I needed done and he said it was in his range of expertise. He asked how soon I would like him out to my house, and I said the next day, if he were available. He was open and made the appointment for 9:00am.
Raul called me about 8:30am to say he was running late, and would be there no later than 10:00am. He arrived at 9:30am. I was not disappointed that he showed just a tad late, because he had the professionalism and courtesy to let me know that he was running late. Just recently, I wasted two days waiting for two different plumbers to show up, who never called and never showed!!!
I showed Raul the things I needed done, and he quoted me a very fair and reasonable price. He spent about 1/2 an hour on the bathtub leak, and when I checked it, it was perfect - no more leak.
He immediately started the painting job upon finishing the tub, wasting no time between tasks.
The third, most difficult task I had for him was rescreening a very old back door. It had been special made and had used an odd technique to screening - using rope and staples. Raul had his work cut out for him. He took a trip to Home Depot to figure out what to use to hold the new screen in place (which I had already purchased). He was very inventive, using a very cheap material too! This project took him several hours to complete. Then, after he finished that, he sawed down my wood door, which had expanded over the years, and made it fit it's space again! This took him another hour, or so, and he only increased the price by $25.00.
I like his work and reasonable price so much, that I am having him come back in a month to remove a built in shelf for me, which includes tiling in the empty space and patching and painting the walls. He quoted me another very reasonable price!
Like everyone else, I work hard for my money and feel that I want the best I can get for it. For that reason, I highly recommend Raul to anyone needing a handyman!! Thank you Angie's List!!

He did a pretty good job.

He finished in less than an hour and told me up front how much it would cost before he got started. He cleaned up after himself and I was completely satisfied. I would hire him again.

He was excellent. He showed up on time and he did a good job. I would use him again. He was here 10 minutes earlier than he said. I am going to call him again next week.

The job went well overall. The kitchen ceilng came out fine and the window frame was repaired and painted. The job took him all day as he had to leave and purchase a molding that was under the frame. He on his own will painted ALL the window frames on that side of the house so they could all look fresh and match. I must add that his english speaking is very little but he understand well.

He showed up on time, estimated the job, went to Home Depot and got the required items, came back, spent about an hour and fixed the drip in the toilet, and the shower. He clean up the area, and left no mess.

I spoke to Raul on the phone. He was polite and helpful, we made an appointment and he arrived as scheduled. Raul first looked at my existing timer to see if it could be fixed. It was old and not worth the time to attempt fixing it. Raul went and purchased a new timer and installed it. He asked for my input as to the schedule for the program. Raul selected a timer that was much easier to use and more efficient than my old one. He presented me with the bill from Home Depot and added the labor charge that we had agreed on. I was very pleased with his services and he was very easy to work with. I would definately use him again. I recommended him to my brother for some handy man work and he was also pleased.

He does a variety of handman work for me. He fixed our gates when they had swelled and fixed the cat door. He repaired a stool and put up a pup tent and also did some painting. He is very professional and respectful. He always cleans up after himself and he offers very good prices.
