Harvey's TV & Stereo Repair

Harvey's disassembled the Zenith portable TV/VCR to remove a stuck video cassette, cleaned, lubed & alligned the play mechanism, replaced a couple of belts (capstan & loading?) and disassembled the remote to remove and clean the main (p/c ?) board and cleaned and (resurfaced?) the keypad.  Cost at this point was $103.05 ($138.05 less the $35.00 deposit) for the TV, $30.97 for the remote.  Very reasonable (online costs for remote repair a couple years ago were comparable if not more).  When I went in to p/u the set, however, Bob discovered that the automatic shut-off problem had not been resolved and the TV again had to be disassembled and a cracked part replaced.  I was afraid this would increase the cost when my limit for the TV had been approx. $100.  Very pleasantly surprised that there was no extra charge for what must have cost time and parts.  After an initial false start and some delays, I was very happy w/ the outcome:  My 13" Zenith works great.  Harvey's, recommended by Carolyn of Palisades Electric, has crazy hours so call in advance to be sure they will be there.  I plan to use them to install a rooftop antenna to improve reception for three off-air sets in this house. Harvey's offers 90 days warranty on parts & labor.  Note that there is free parking in the lot just west of this busy Pico Blvd location.
