Dr. Roofing & Solar

A lot of wood had to be replaced because of heavy termite infestation.  He replaced some eaves, fascia, 1 x 6's (skip sheathing) and some plywood/osb.  They also painted the wood they replaced.  Then they put on the osb, The black paper came next, and the batting went on that.  Batting is wood strips, about 2 x 2 or 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 to nail the tiles to.  The venting and metal flashing came next, and they were painted to perfectly match the roof.  Last the roof tiles went on. 

After that, he made the patio roof and carport roof waterproof.  They had multiple leaks. They did a "torch down" and installed flashing around the skylights.  Then they installed the proper kind of roofing for the roofs, which were low rise and too flat for regular shingles.  I am very pleased with the roof.  He also came in and sprayed kilz paint on the places where the ceiling had spots from the leaks in the old roof.  He did several other roofs in the tract and they all look good.

One Sunday afternoon/evening in December, 2014, it rained really hard for a half hour to an hour. The water was dripping from the top of a window on the inside of my bedroom.  It was coming from the roof and through the wall - not blowing in from the window itself.  I squirted the top of the window with a hose nozzle on hard pressure and it did not go through the window.  The window itself was not leaking. The house smelled like mold that night.  The next Morning it was not raining and I called another roofer who wanted $250 to put a tarp over the area. A band aid fix. I then called Terry Martinez, owner of Dr. Roofing and Solar.  He came out that afternoon and slid a piece of metal (flashing) under two shingles where he saw possible leaks.  He only charged me $20!  It has rained a few times since and there has been no problem.  He fixed it.
