We initially chose them over 3 other builders because we believed in the quality of their work and their ethics. They showed up on time, cleaned up when they left and even helped with other questions throughout the day. I was actually expecting a lot of the parts to be pre-made, but Brian hand-crafted the stairs and they are done so beautifully. And there are lots of small details they added that make everything come together.
Even the other guys that specialize in framing, drywall, painting & staining were very friendly and did great work. And they all made comments on how Brian is a good, honest guy that does things right.
It was easily the best experience we've had with any contractors and we've actually missed having them around!
Very well
I'm not big on writing reviews but the job that Pacific Coast Stairs did is well worth my time to express the superior quality that was obtained upon completion. I can?t say enough positive things about Jerry and Brian!
When Jerry came by for a quote, he was very up front and complete as to the project details, and very competitively priced. Not to mention very friendly and professional.
The job started on time, and they got in and went straight to work. The first couple days of demo went on without a hitch. And once they left after each day they left my house very clean, and ready for the next days work.
As we got into day 3, turns out my stair installation was by no means a walk it the park. What turned out to be a "routine" stair
replacement, ended up being a job that was well above and beyond the initial project. Beginning with increasing the headroom in the stairwell, which led to removing a surprising 2x2 piece of concrete, and onto raising as section of the roof in order to increase stairwell head clearance. The house I own is the furthest thing from ordinary construction as you can get, once you start digging there are surprises are around every corner. Both Jerry and Brian took the project and the unforeseen challenges and did everything they could to do the project right, and build the stairs that had been agreed upon. Bending over backwards is an understatement. I firmly believe that any other contractor would have just walked off the job, but not these guys! They understood the changes that needed to happen, and took the appropriate steps to complete the job as planned. And the job that was done was done perfectly! They are very skilled in their trade, and it shows. I could find no flaws in their work.
On top of all this, both Jerry and Brian are great guys. Friendly, easy to talk to, and simply just a pleasure to have around.
All in all, outside of the unpredicted problems, my stair replacement went very smooth, and I got exactly what I was looking for. This was a very positive experience. I would absolutely recommend these guys, and I plan on calling them back for any further projects I want to do.
These guys are absolutely amazing!!! I had called about 5 different contractors for estimates on replacing my stair railings. I had all sorts of price quotes, but Jerry gave me a quote and told me, "...the difference between my estimates and someone else that may be lower, is that mine is all inclusive. I'm not going to show up and say oh we missed this or forgot about this and nickel and dime you to death..." Well not only was he right, he was RIGHT!!!
DAY 1 of the job and it's discovered that the existing metal rails were not supported under the stairs by anything. The crew pulled up the flooring and installed extra support underneath. Later that day they found the same problem for one of the posts upstairs. They cut my ceiling open, installed extra support and made sure that not only was my stair railing beautiful, but it was safe for my kids! Day 2 the guy showed up to CUSTOM make a stain for the wood (again included in the price already), made a PERFECT match to what we asked for and applied a beautiful color and sealed finish to the posts. Day 3 Jerry and Brian show up for the touch up and finish work. These two were quite possibly the nicest contractors that I have ever worked with!!!! Not only did they finish the install, they fixed a bunch of little things and went above and beyond to ensure that my stair railing AND my stairs looked absolutely perfect. I can't recommend these guys enough, honest, caring and priced right!!! If you need something done with your stairs, these are the guys to call!!!
Thank you for a beautiful railing and for helping me to ensure that my family/children are safe in our home!
Brian, Jerry and Richard were all very professional and pleasure to work with. Very knowledgeable and resolved several issues that came up during construction activities. They were very flexible and helpful in identifying problems and explaining options to resolve them. Very customer oriented and looked after our best interest throughout the construction activities.
The only area for recommendation to improve is during the construction activities the dust and debris are unavoidable; however, they could have been little more organized to reduce the mess and chaos, and to let us know ahead of time so that we can cover up more carefully to avoid the dust all over bathroom and bedroom furniture.
