JC PENNEY

The recliner is very nice. The interaction with the sales people and delivery guys was really nice. I have always had a good experience with them and their products.

We'd shopped around, tried out mattresses at many different stores and we were trying to avoid the hard sell that a lot of mattress stores give you. Well, our experience at JC Penney s was fine - we thought. Until about six weeks after delivery when the mattress began to sag. It got worse and worse and we called the store. They sent us a complaint form to fill out. We measured the sag in the mattress and it was about 2.5 inches deep at that time. They sent someone out to look at it and a few weeks later we got a letter stating that our warranty was voided because the mattress frame did not have a cross piece, and because there were some small stains on the mattress cover. At the store the salesman had asked if we wanted to buy a new frame with the mattress and we said, no, we already had a frame. He didn't say we needed a particular kind of frame. He didn't tell us if we had the wrong kind of frame it would invalidate the warranty. When the JC Penney installers set up the mattress they didn't say there was anything wrong with the frame. This is really a scam. They sold me a defective mattress and they are evading responsibility by imposing irrelevant requirements. I realize that the manufacturer, Spring Air, is equally accountable, but JC Penney took our money and it is their responsibility.

When I got it home, I realized it was way too big. They have a 7 day return policy and came out and picked up the furniture from me. I had a little trouble with the receipts, but they got everything straightened out, and I'm happy with their return policy,
