BUYER BEWARE - THE LEASE IS NOT ALWAYS TRANSFERABLE TO A NEW OWNER.  CONTRACT IS VERY ONE-SIDED, and the COMPANY IS VERY UNRESPONSIVE TO TRY TO RESOLVE TRANSFER ISSUES.  Our buyer was from China, and because he did not have a SSN, the leasing company would NOT transfer to the lease to him, even though he was buying our multi-milliion dollar home with cash.  SO BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE OF THEIR FALSE CLAIMS that the lease is transferrable.

The process for installing solar panels is very involved and is conducted through a series of events. First, the sales person comes out to speak to us about how solar panels can help with a lowered electric bill. There are feasibility studies, survey engineer, and other processes. We had to sign a contract where it shows what we are responsible for as far as the lease is concerned and how much our monthly bill would be to the solar company.

The installers were very efficient and did an overall good job. The only complaint with the installers is that when they were nailing the panels toward the back of the house near the eves, they split some of the wood. I didn't notice right away but my husband did and asked them to repair it. They did.

We had a rocky start with the electric company because we were still receiving monthly bills until the solar person told me what to say to the electric company. I had to speak to someone under 'net billing' or something like similar. That straightened things out and we received a hefty refund of what we paid over a course of 8 months. The solar lease payments are paid through auto deduction from our bank account. We receive monthly bills from SCE that shows the negative amounts on our electricity usage. We also are billed annually for any residuals to SCE, which are those accumulated charges on a regular bill. We received our annual bill which was higher than our monthly solar bill. I'm not sure how that works but will find out.

The solar company monitors our solar usage through internet connection. They have a cable that connects into our router. We also have access to see our connection through their website. I think this is a nice feature. The solar office is not always available when first calling but they will return phone messages promptly. So far, we are pleased with our service, but sometimes wonder if we could have lowered our cost a bit more. Hopefully there may be updates that can lower further.

They checked out my roof to see if it was feasable. They installed the panels and a solar meter and a monitoring system. It was professional .
