CHASE HOME LOANS

The initial refinance went smoothly with the broker. After the broker handed off the loan to Chase, there was a mixup in the paperwork that Chase processed. My first direct contact with Chase was with their collections department! In over a decade of home ownership I've never been late on a payment. Chase had missed the initial payment to the broker and handed me off to the collections department. They didn't call me first from any sort of transfer department. Collections wanted me to pay two immediate monthly payments and then go back to my broker to get them to refund the payment. Chase refused to recheck their paperwork or to go back to the broker who they had purchased my loan from. It took four months to get everything worked out and Chase was difficult the entire time - at one point they mailed me multiple foreclosure notices all the while their customer "service" was claiming I could ignore them... No department had the power to set things right, all had to go through some sort of investigations department which I wasn't allowed to talk directly to, nor did their investigation get anywhere. I will never, ever voluntarily do business with Chase again!

I had an excellent experience with Yar. He was recommended to me by my accountant. I talked to him and he quoted me on a mortgage for a new home purchase. He was extremely helpful, educating me on aspects of mortgages and the mortgage process that I didn't understand. I thought he was very trustworthy and helpful. For the process, I was also using a mortgage broker in addition to him representing Chase. I ended up going with the loan provided by the broker because the terms of the loan were slightly better. However, I would definitely reach out to Yar for any refinancing or other mortgage needs.
