J & F POOL PLASTERING INC

We were very pleased with the work done by J & F. We had three estimates and they were all very similar, but we were impressed with the details Frank provided about the work they would do, any problems that we might encounter, the permit process, etc. They were the only company we talked to that took off all the old plaster (we had 2 previous coats). On our previous replaster a few years ago the company put the new plaster over the old coat and it didn't last well at all.

We had the old floor cleaners and initially we planned to work around the existing system, but we decided that we should consider a pool sweep because of the amount of vegetation we have in the area. Frank gave us quote both ways, and we decided to go with the pool sweep. This required an additional plumber, but he works with J & F regularly and everything went smoothly. Frank also worked with our concrete contractor (who was installing a retaining wall) so they wouldn't get in each other's way. After the pool was filled, Frank talked to our regular pool cleaning company about the start up procedure.

The communication was good. Both Sheryl and Sue kept us up to date on scheduling, the permit procedure, and pool start up. All of the crews who came out were very professional and courteous. They seemed sincerely interested in pleasing us and when they left the area was cleaned up and looked great. It's like having a new pool with a new LED light, StoneScapes tropic's blue bottom, and new cleaner.

We were quite pleased with this company. They responded quickly to our queries and were professional at every moment of the work. When I noticed the tile being installed was not exactly what we had ordered, the tiling crew quickly realized how the mistake had been made, removed the tile they had already installed and made it right. No complaining, just quickly and professionally fixing the problem. We realize we may have been able to do this job a little cheaper with a different company, but we really wanted the pool stripped completely and not just sandblasted to remove the flaking plaster. We wanted this job done right so we don't ever have to do it again - or at least not for 20-30 years. There were a few delays in the work due to rain, but we were kept well-informed about when work would be proceeding and what was causing the delays. Kudos to Sheryl for an excellent job keeping us in the loop throughout the scope of the project. Even clean up after the job was pretty good. There were a few water bottles and bits of debris left in the yard, but it was obvious they made an effort to leave it clean and just forgot a few things. We highly recommend Jand F Pool Plastering for their professionalism and stellar customer service.

I did not request a quote from this company, but I would consider them for a quote.

The first crew arrived and began breaking out the existing tile. It took 2 days and all the plaster litter was hauled away. Next came the tile and grout crew. The project manager came by and checked on how things were going and answered out questions. The plaster crew came next and the plaster was mixed on the truck in the front of the house and was spray into the pool. They finished the smoothing of the surface and later came to fill the pool and collect the check. They called us to emphasize the important points to a successful curing and cleaning of the finished surface, and left us written instructions. We hired a pool service to perform the chemical startup. I was very please with the professional courtesy of all the staff and laborers. The cost was very much worth the results.

Very pleased with work. Polite and efficient crews. Not pleased with scheduling. They took a long time to schedule and gave very little notice (less than 24 hrs.) that they would be coming to do work.
