My only concern is that he named a minimum price over the phone without even assessing the job. After assessing the job, he stuck to that price.

Carl had to remove the mess my handyman did who claimed he knew how to apply a sealant on travertine but didn't understand the need to wipe up and buff down any excess liquid, which resulted in splotched and dulled stone. Surface Solutions (a small operation) was able to lightly grind off and buff out the problems left by the handyman's attempt. Carl did what was needed and came immediately (arrived 7:30 AM the following day from my call). Very nice, pleasant, and willing to do a few extras when you ask without it being a problem. The original job was quoted at $250 but this was a mess and he added the bathroom and mantel for the additional $100.
