Lawyers Title & Escrow

When I was about to buy out one of my co-owner's interest in residential income property without the help of a real estate agent,  i stopped into Lawyers Title in West Hollywood to ask some questions about the escrow procedure, costs associated with escrow, and which costs are typically paid by the buyer and which costs are typically paid by the seller.  Mark Neveu spent as much time as i  needed, and wrote down the answers to my questions.  I explained that the transaction was a highly contentious one, with a lot of animosity between the parties.  He didn't flinch, and explained that they are used to dealing with such circumstances.  When we opened escrow Lisa Coro was assigned as our escrow officer, and she was AMAZING!  She was very professional, and despite our calling her several times per day, and then wanting to rush escrow through in a couple of weeks, she always acted like it was a pleasure to hear from us and we weren't bothering her at all. She did everything necessary for us to close escrow very fast, and made sure that the adverse parties were not in the office at the same time. I think buying or selling property is always a stressful experience, but due to the animosity between the parties our situation was exceptionally so - I cannot speak too highly of how Lisa made what was otherwise a very difficult and stressful situation absolutely as easy as possible.
