Metro builders did it again!!!

Simply perfect, start to finish, so smooth, so fast and my mom so happy she

can move in.

In less then 3 Months Metro builders and the amazing Erez who supervise the all project, as he promised the job site always so clean, ordering the materials on time so no delays, the way he manage the workers and the chemistry between all.

The kitchen came so pretty, the bathroom with the handicap accesses for my mom, the non slippery floor covering.

In less then 10 days complete my kids bath room with new tile in the shower and floor.

Remove the old roof and install new shingles just before the rain start.

The company's owner Erez was outstanding in every way. Very attentive, punctual, responsive, reasonable and enthusiastic. I have no reservations giving him and the company the highest marks. Ours was a complex remodel. He made it essentially painless. Even when we were out an appliance because it was being replaced, he arranged for us to have replacement options.
Everything stayed on schedule and was completed in a timely fashion. It looks amazing. My wife and I are very excited and pleased.

I feel like the deal was falsely advertised. They said that it would not be for any 8 hours, and they said that Angie’s List had advertised it wrong. I was told that I couldn’t get just anything done during the 8 hours. I wasn’t compensated at all for the Big Deal I purchased. All this is to the best of my recollection.

We
called to Metro builders again after our amazing experience in the pass.
Erez showed up at 9 PM after we called cause our main water supply brake in the
attic above the bathroom.
He stayed until 10:30 Pm with his plumber as a first aid to stop the leaking
and next day the workers came to do clean up the mess.
He helped us to negotiate with the insurance to collect the money and the same
time replace the entire bathroom, new flooring, vanity, tile, electrical, dry
wall and paint, all job was done in less than a week like nothing happen.

We just hired metro builders again to remodel my mom's bathroom in Encino. Removed the tub and install walk-in tub, install new tile floor, new toilet and vanity. New fresh paint and new lights.  He discovered termite damage inside the wall, replace all the damaged wood, install new wood for NO CHARGE. The job was done in 5 days.
My mom and I are very happy.

Metro builders of 5 other companies we did interview.

First we met
with Erez and we were very impressed of his knowledge, professional, amazing personality
and very detail oriented.

The
Architect and the engineer are vary professionals and pulled all necessary city
permits in 2 weeks.

As soon as
the job started we knew we are dealing with professionals, the framers finished
the 2 units framing in 1 week!!!

Erez were in
the job site everyday and manage the project so smooth, every guy in the job
site knew exactly what to do and the relationship between all is amazing.

The job site
always clean and ready for inspection, pass all city inspection in one shot (I
think the inspector knew Erez is a pro)

He helped us
to select all the finishing materials and saving us lot of money through his vendors.

The tile
guys are artist and we love the kitchens and bathrooms.

He finished
the project in less than 4 months and after clean up is like nothing happens.

We are planning
to build our 5000 sq ft custom home on this coming summer and we are definitely
going to use Metro builders again.

Erez is very responsive, and the vast majority of the subcontractors he employs are fantastic (particularly his drywaller and plumber).  When initially he didn't have the sorts of cabinet doors I wanted (the price above included cabinets), he found another cabinet installer who did.  He was very flexible, and tried hard to make sure we were happy at each step along the way.  The drywaller was incredibly meticulous, both in his work, as well as in his clean-up, as well as being incredibly polite and punctual.  His electrician and plumber were both very good, and very professional.  The demo guy was incredibly UNprofessional, yelling at the top of his lungs while arguing with Erez about payment.  Thankfully, Erez said this was the first time he had ever used the guy, and that he has no intention of reusing him.  The cabinet installers screwed up a couple times (fairly minor stuff), which I attribute to language barrier, but Erez made sure they came back to correct it.  There were a few minor things that needed fixing (eg, the counter was a little off kilter because they didn't take into account the wall wasn't plumb, the tile had to be reinstalled to fit the oven), but they got everything right overall.

Bought 12 hours, the provider provided 2 guys. Possibly it was the amount of time or the paint used but I had to add a few more coats to all doors as the original color could still be seen. Overall the guys did a good job in the time allotted and were extremely friendly, helpful and professional.

Initial installer did very poor job and contractor's initial response was unprofessional and argumentative.  The correction of the work done by the initial installer went very well with the two men kind and competent.

In
the last 9 years we did many jobs with metro builders and remodeling.
We own a multiply apartments buildings and Metro builder?s always available
for immediate start.
This job we have a bath room that the ceiling is collapsed from broken water
pipe above.
The guys came over at 10 PM to shot off the water, fix the pipe and show up at
7 AM to clean up the mass and start remodel the bathroom.
Everything was done in 6 days: new tile, electrical, window, paint. Perfect
we are very happy and the tenant happy.

I had called Metro Builders to come give me an estimate to replace an
elevated driveway.  The job is more complex than an average driveway as
there are posts, foundations, beams, etc. under the concrete.  Erez was
able to figure out several details that other contractors missed,
especially with regard to the necessity to replace much of the support
structure under the driveway.  He came back to me with a fair quote in a very
reasonable period of time.

Ultimately the job was done well however the initial quote to do the job was much higher than I could tell was necessary.  He was very nice and pleasant but I felt that he was over-quoting the job.  I was told it would take a day to tear down the fence and several days to build it.  In the end, I scaled down the job to make it fit into the time-frame I'd already paid for with the coupon (6 hours with 2 guys - and we only did the section of the fence over the grass - 30ft).  (I bought 2 coupons that included 6 hours of labor for $199 a piece).  It took them less than an hour to do the tear down of the existing fence.  They began to put up the special ordered 8ft boards when we realized my posts weren't high enough.  The guys were ready to stop but I got them to rethink what our solutions could be as I wasn't going to redo the posts - they were what they were and I needed this fence completed asap.  After coming up with a few ideas, I settled on us cutting a foot off our height - it was too high and that solved the not high enough posts issue mostly (top was fanning out unevenly).  They worked very hard and diligently once the solution had been provided and the fence looks good.  The work itself was executed well but the initial over-quote didn't inspire confidence.  Additionally, it would have been helpful to have been told that the existing posts were not high enough before paying extra to get special ordered 8ft panels that I ended up hacking a foot off to make them work with the existing infrastructure.  Although with all that said, the fence does look good and although it's not as high as I had initially wanted, it is high enough and provides the much needed privacy I was hoping for.

I purchased the $199 for 6 man hours of general remodeling or contracting services BIg Deal.  Metro Builders contacted me shortly thereafter, but I told them that I was not yet ready and would call them.  I called them a couple weeks before my voucher expired, and Metro set me up for an appointment in less than a week.  Francisco arrived at my house early, which worked out great for me.  He told me he was here to do whatever I needed done, put in a full 6 hours and maybe more, and was a pleasure to work with.  We are very happy with the results of his work.

They are very nice, never complained about the request that I had. Very professional. Well prepared too. And they did a wonderful job.  I would recommend him to anyone.

Well, I'll start with the fact that they had to come back because they attached the shelves to drywall without anchoring  (of course they came down when I placed something on the shelves), put baseboards on walls without nailing them to studs and created screens that did not fit property in windows.
On first visit they did not have the proper tools and had to borrow some from me.
All in all it was a horrible experience as they didn't do enough during the time that they were at my house and the things they did were mostly done incorrectly.

this is my first purchase of  work offered by  AL.based on my experience I don't think I'll buying anymore coupons in the future. I can't remember the date work was done. The provider brought a young man and left him to do the job. If I knew this was to be the case. I could easily get a day labor from the Home Depot near me

Schedule the work took a few tries, before we were assigned a work and date.  We were very clear on the work to be done, and specially told the scheduler that we need them to bring a professional sander, as we only had a small Black & Decker - insufficient for the job.  We also specified a start time of 8:00 a.m. 
All other materials like rags, weatherproofing varnish/sealer and paint brushes, we supplied.
The day of the appointment, two workers showed up before 7:00 a.m. (over an hour early).  Only one of them was affiliated with Metro Builder, the other was a friend of the worker.  When we mention the start time as 8:00 a.m., the Metro Builder worker stated that he needed to be somewhere by Noon.
Despite that we barely woke up, we have them start the job.  The team asked us for sandpaper and a sander.  We said that we specifically asked the workers to bring a professional sander.  We did have sandpaper.  The Metro worker basically then said that he cannot do the job, because he does not have time to go pick up and sander, come back, do the work and still be on time to whatever his next commitment was.
It was clear that he was not going to try and do the work.  His friend offered to go and get a sander, because he had one.  He would come back alone and do the work.
The Metro Builder contractor left.  His friend came back an hour later with a sander to start the job.  This was around 8:30.  Including breaks and lunch, the friend of the Metro contractor - left after about 7 hours, short of the 8 hours on the big deal.  He did not quite finish the work.  We were going to hire the friend for a few extra hours separate to finish the job, but after several contacts, he never showed up.
We just let the incident go.  Metro Builder as a company may be fine, but the worker it sent that days was inconsiderate (showed up early), was un prepared (did not bring sander despite being asked to do so), and was unprofessional (took off, left a "friend" who was not affiliated with Metro to do the work), and ultimately, did not put in the full hours.

Metro builders help me recovering the bathroom and kitchen in one of my rental units after my tenant destroyed.
Install new cabinet, counter tops , tile floor, toilet, sink, all plumbing fixtures and painting.
10 days job and the unit is ready to rent again.

It was mediocre. The first time the came out, they stripped out the drywall, patched it and painted, but they didn't wait for the interior of the wall to dry, so it needed to be redone. So, they had to come back and redo the work. It took them about 5 trips total to finish. They first did the initial repair, then had to rip it out and let the wall dry, then came back to replace the drywall, then to painted, and then to do some odd jobs that they were supposed to do the first time. They never tried to back out of their responsibility. It just took a long time to get everything done. Also, every time it was a different crew or worker who hadn't fully been explained the scope of the work and may not have had the appropriate supplies. They also didn't charge by the hour, even though the deal was for 6 man hours, so I didn't actually save any money on the deal.

Metro Builders is a large scale remodeling company. I believe they do not specialize in smaller scale work. I described my small job clearly before they came to my home to assess the job. In that meeting, I felt I was resisting the efforts to call them in the future for a larger scale project. I was not interested in a larger scale project and felt I had to insist on that before I received the time estimate for the scope of what I wanted to do.
