Best Pools is a family owned and operated full service company that has been serving the local community for 35 years. We specialize in both residential and commercial pool & spa service, from weekly pool maintenance to equipment repairs and installations. Other services offered are: Filter cleaning, New plaster start up, Green pool clean up, Tile bead blasting - calcium removal, Crack repair - epoxy injection, Handrail installation, Light pool remodel. Monthly service rates run $90.00 per month for most, but can vary depending on individual circumstances. Service calls will be at a charge of $75.00 which will then be credited to any approved repair done. We mail or email monthly billing and accept credit cards for both service and/or repair. Standard service has had several weeks that were skipped as the owner was doing it directly. When I complained he promptly had one of his other people do it and it has been flawless ever since.

Best Pools has handled everything from weekly servicing to pump replacement to repairing a major crack caused by the Northridge Earthquake that re-opened two years ago. Everything they have done over the past eight years has been prompt and professional, and our pool and spa have never done anything but sparkle. This from someone who is generally a tough reviewer.

Jeff is accessible, responsible and reliable. Jeff and Kimberly have integrity and are trustworthy. At times we ask Jeff questions regarding extra work we think should be done. Jefff's responses are very honest - he lets us know when the extra work is not necessary. Jeff and Kimberly are good people.

Best Pools is run by a husband and wife. The husband Jeff is the pool man and the wife does the billing. Initially when I hired the pool man and owner he seemed knowledgeable and honest. He did a decent job for the first three to four months, then things slowly started to slip in multiple ways. Including over priced repairs, too many filter cleanings all seperate charges inconsistant servcie. At the end a few years later, they let my pool go completely green. The pool man just stopped coming and it wasn't due to non payment as I always paid my bills. The owner mis-advised the necessary services needed to restore my pool back to clean keep my pool clean. Jeff insisted I needed several thousands of dollars worth of repairs were needed to get the circulation back to normal. The owner Jeff had a bad attitude with me and my tenants. His employee pool men were bad too as they often did not show for weeks at a time and yet Best Pools would always bill me for the full amount of monthly service. They would ovcer charge me compared to fair market value on parts and repairs. Their service was bad, not fully bushing and vacuuming my pool, letting the pool get out of chemical balance on the edge of green. I admit being a semi long distant landlord I was foolish to keep hoping their service would improve and dreaded finding a new pool man so I kept them at least a year or two longer than most people would of put up with. When they let the pool go green and would not show up, I was forced t finely get a new pool man. The new pool man was fantastic. Got the pool clean in no time, no expensive repairs. Flat monthly reasonable fee for service, chemicals and filter cleanings, ultimately saving me hundreds of dollars annually compared to Best Pools. My tenants stop complaining too. Stay away from Best Pools, spare the headache, they are dishonest business people and offer poor inconsistent service on multiple levels.

"Seeing this review comes as a shock as service was discontinued with this customer a year and a half ago, after 5 years of undisputed service! As much as we appreciate and respect the right of anyone for whom we have done service to post a review, (positive or negative), we do not appreciate or respect inaccurate information. Best Pools has served the community for over 30 years and prides itself on the reputation built on honesty and integrity. We consider the remark in bold print posted at the bottom of this review “dishonest business people” as offensive and unequivocally false. Verifiable customer billing/payment account history: Service started in January 2009, discontinued in May 2014. No service of any kind was ever provided nor charged for in the amount of $1800.00 as stated. The only service provided was monthly service for $80.00 a month, which is at current or below standard service pricing. Only one “major” repair - Pool pump replacement - 465.00 parts, labor & tax - Done 2009 – in line with market pricing Charged filter cleans - 2 - 3 each year, standard for the industry “Separate charges” Filter cleanings - $50.00 Conditioner - 1 time annual charge - $65.00 Tabs - 1 bucket annually - $124.87 These items are all standard to the industry and in line with any other pool service companies with Jeff’s education, experience & expertise. These charges are not unique to this customer, but in fact standard to all our customers. Customer rarely paid monthly service invoices in a timely manner, in fact, consistently averaged 3-4 months in arrears. However, when payments were finally made, invoices were caught up to date. It is always Best Pools interest to accommodate the needs of the homeowner. However, we as well require mutual participation in the interest of the pool by the homeowner and/or tenant."

Jeff was great! He came out to our house the same day I called to review what needed to be done. My husband had been taking care of the pool for years but due to work and school had been neglecting it for almost 3 months. However, Jeff got the pool back into sparkling shape in less than a week. We're now going to keep him on for weekly service.

Pool water was green and murky due to failure of previous pool service. After some shock treatments, the water is clear and sparkling. No problems for last three months of service. The owner, Jeff, did recommend draining and refilling the pool, due to a multi-year accumulation of metals and salts, but I was reluctant to do that during the drought. He accepted my decision and he and his techs were able to clear up and clean up the pool with the existing water.

I spent $180 a month. The people who work there are good at what they do and they're cheaper than the others. They cleaned up after themselves everyday and they're just fine.

I had seen the overall positive response for Best Pools here on Angie's. Jeff has done a good job and has met our expectations.
He visits our pool on a weekly basis. He is competent at what he does so naturally he's quite busy. However he does respond fairly quickly to your phone calls or for stopping by to look at equipment issues. Though I had gotten lower quotes for service, I do believe that good work isn't necessarily cheap, and cheap isn't necessarily good work.

Maybe the worst weekly pool servive I've had.

"After 4 years of service, this review comes 5 months after discontinuing pool service. We performed regular weekly pool maintenance on this pool with a salt system. The customer was informed prior to initial service that there are inherent problems that occur with salt systems, and although Jeff tried to dissuade him from this type of system, the customer insisted. Please reference our other reviews for a true reflection of the quality of our work."

It went fantastic. The grandkids are over having a blast. And the water looks very inviting and feels fresh. It was getting a bit stale.
I will always depend and rely on Best Pools. They are there when they say they will be and are always on time, and always gives me a bid and I had checked with other pool services and found that Best Pools has always been very straight, courteous and right on target with my budgets. I just bought a new home that was a short sale, and the pool had turned green. Jeff responded and was out to my house THAT DAY as he knew what a mess this could become. Since then he not only has the pool looking beautiful!..... but has the equipment working more efficiently than ever. The pump was extremely loud and the pool made a gurgling sound. All of this has been remedied. And he is so insightful on safety, and codes that i sleep sound knowing he is aware of what is going on.
We are so happy with Best Pools that we have asked Jeff to take over service on our condominium complex. we had so many issues there and his vast knowledge of the codes and laws has been extremely educational.

iWe have used Best Pools for our weekly pool service since 2010. When our pool pump stopped working, we were in the market for a new pump, and we decided to purchase an energy efficient pool pump. We called several pool repair services on Angie's List.
Jeff gave us a fair price and did an excellent job of installing the new pump. He ran into a few problems removing the old equipment, but he did not charge us extra. We are very pleased with Best Pools.

It went extremely well. Jeff knows what he's doing, and offers sound advice. We're now running an efficient pool with considerable savings. And, the deck looks great again. It was seperating around the bonding, and he repaired it and it looks like a new pool again.
I have referred Jeff to many of my neighbors and they are always telling me what a great pool man he is and how happy they are I referred him. The thing I like most about Best pools is they (Jeff) are always on time, have great advice and excellent service.
By the way, I was having a birthday party for my granddaughter and the pool was a bit cloudy. I called Jeff and he came over for 2 days prior to her party and had my pool sparkling like a diamond. It was crystal clear for her party. Best Pools is the BEST.

Jeff did an amazing job. He was punctual, attentive, and he did quality work. I was cleaning my own pool and my wife and I went on vacation, so the pool was neglected for a while. When we got back I just didn't feel up to the task of doing a huge cleanup, and I also knew that our filter needed to be maintained which is something I'm not an expert at.
I called Jeff and he came and looked at the pool that same day even though it was raining out. At first I was a little worried because when he noticed the low suction on our filter he mentioned that we might need some work on our pump... but that he'd let us know once the job was started. He had great reviews on this site so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and hired him for the work. He came in right on budget and it turned out that we didn't need a new filter after all! Jeff is a totally honest guy.
I also like that he didn't dump the old DE in the street. A lot of pool guys do this, and not only is it messy and ugly, it's also illegal. I'm glad that he's aware of this and environmentally conscious... he worked the DE into our back lawn and it's now greener than ever!
I'd hire him again in a second... he does amazing work.

Jeff came out on a blazing hot day to look at my pool heater, which wouldn't start. He identified the problem within 15 minutes - a defective switch. He had to order a replacement part, which he installed a couple of days later. The heater now works fine. His service was prompt and professional. He didn't try to sell me parts or services that I didn't need, and his price was very reasonable. If I need any pool service in future, I'll be calling Jeff.

Jeff was quick and reasonable with his estimate to clean up a pool that had been neglected by my previous pool maintenance company. I was very impressed with the quality and thoroughness of his work and his friendliness and professionalism. He really knows what he's doing. I hired him to do regular maintenance and my pool has never looked so good and the cost is very reasonable.
