Marie Bymaster The DogMaster

It went well. Marie came to our house for most of the lessons. We walked the dogs in a nearby park on two occasions. The younger dog was, and is, the more difficult dog. He barked at the teacher continuously through much of the lessons. Marie had her work cut out for her, but she never lost her confidence or professionalism. She recommended a certain kind of harness which makes the difficult dog more controllable when walking him. The dogs are now better at lying down and at staying when commanded to do so. I found Marie mainly because of positive reviews on Yelp.

Marie came to my home and had a meeting with me, my roommate and our dogs. Marie is extremely knowledgeable. As a petsitter and someone who has been involved with dogs all my life, I felt that I knew quite a bit about dogs and their behavior. Marie came in and started with a review on canine behavior. I have to say I learned a lot from her. It was very interesteing. She told us that it is good for a dog to warn us of possible danger and the fact that Oso barks when the doorbell rings is a good thing. She then said that it was our job to thank him for telling us and to then let him know we had the situation under control because we are the pack leaders. She also showed us how to train all four of our dogs to wait at the foot of the entry so that they would be at a bit of a distance from the front door when the visitor came in. In addition, Marie advised us to have treats on the porch so that when a visitor came inside, they could bring a treat so that Oso would view visitors as a positive experience. Of course, this all took practice and repetition but Oso handles himself perfectly now and I am extremely pleased with Marie's training. Her advise on how to train Oso was right on the money.
As a petsitter, I still call Marie when I am watching a dog with behavior or obedience issues. She has always been able to give me advise that does the trick. For this reason, I also recommend her to my clients.
On a side note, I also know that Marie volunteers her personal time to work with shelter dogs. She goes to the shelter to walk them, love them and to make them more adoptable. She also introduces them to potential families. She has a special connection with dogs as well as true passion and compassion.
I give Marie 5 STARS!! She IS the Best!!!
