We install windows and doors, baseboard, crown molding, tile and hardwood. We have two full time employees and have a great list of subcontractors that we use in certain situations. "Hi [Member Name Removed]. I just want to let you know I'm sorry we could not connect. Unfortunately, during the busiest time of year, I was gone for a week and a half on vacation, and then back to work for a week and then on vacation for another week and a half starting tonight (it sounds like I take a lot of vacation but I don't, its just how it worked out this summer). At any rate, I am sorry I could not look at your project. I am swamped like everyone else is right now. Way too much work and not enough contractors to do the work. Ed Cunningham (the fellow in charge at HW Construction) was responsible for overseeing and guiding the construction of my kitchen- and he did an outstanding job! Ed excelled at giving good, practical advice and helped to make the entire process go exceedingly smoothly. There were never any surprises, and whenever a decision had to be made, Ed would let me know what the options were and provide me with unbiased pros and cons.
I first contacted Ed in February...he provided a very reasonable estimate, and also put me in touch with an excellent cabinet shop. The work started in mid-April, and the final inspection was signed off almost exactly five weeks later. Throughout all of the construction Ed and his workers were extremely conscientious...they took care to keep the dust and debris to a minimum and did a fine job of making everything look neat and orderly. My kitchen looks fantastic, and I couldn't be more pleased with the final result!

Removed a tub/shower and converted it to a walk in shower. When an issue with the plumbing came up they brought out a plumber for advice. Together with the inspector we all made the best decision for me and the quality of the job. I never once felt intimidated into a decision. I was included in every step of the process. Ed's attention to detail and perfectionism resulted in excellent tile work.

These guys are great! And NO I did not know them before this project. I am just very happy with my experience!

Hugh and Ed were very professional throughout the initial walk-through, bidding, planning and construction process. They provided expert advice and throrough estimates. HW was selected after securing three other bids.

Once the project started, Hugh and Ed did excellent work. They were always on time, did a good job of communicating status and identifying issues. Throughout the project they demonstrated flexibility and were able to knock off several smaller projects outside of the original scope (some of which they just included as part of the original estimate). The final work was of excellent quality and something that I am proud of as a homeowner.

I definitely recommend HW. They do great work, are reliable and have a good eye for identifying / resolving issues.

On top of the high quality work, Hugh and Ed are just great people and are fun to work with.

I had HW construction out to build our deck on our front porch. We have a large area on the front of our house that wraps around with a railing and pillars. It all needed to be demolished and replaced. After interviewing several contractor the choice was clear. We choose HW Construction for several reasons. They met with us and were right on time. Hugh was very knowledgeable and had a quote to us the very next day. Once on the job they were there everyday until completion and the deck and railing turned out absolutely amazing. HW Construction communicated with us through out the process and the job turned out perfect. I would highly recommend using them

Other contractors on Angie's list should use H and W as an example of how business should be performed.

The job went very well. The project was completed in a professional and timely manner. The detail and craftsmenship is very evident in the finished product. Dealing with HW Construction was very good. The communication and responsivness was very professiional. I would definately hire this company again when our next home improvement project comes up.

They did an excellent job for a fair price (I received 3 quotes). It was a tough demo job, and complex installation because of stairs and radius walls. The demolition was completed quickly and neatly (as possible). They provided me with great ideas for the tile layout in a diagonal pattern, and the work turned out much better than I imagined. The wood installation turned out flawless, even around a radius wall, and rounded fireplace. I hadn't planned on it, but because I was so satisfied with HW's work, I also had them install the trim and millwork for a very reasonable price. The total project took just over three weeks from start to finish. We have received numerous compliments from visitors to our home, and we would use HW again

"I tried to go to this appointment and the address givin to me by this customer. Even though my vehicle has a GPS system I drove around for 30 minutes trying to find the home. I also tried the navigation system on my phone and came to the same result - driving around in circles for a half an hour. I called the customer twice and all I got was static on the line. This was in addition to the 30 - 40 minutes I spent on the phone with her just to get an appointment! She expalined to me in detail every aspect of the project even though I told her what services I provided and that I needed to see the project and it would be best to just set up an appointment. Eventually I was able to get an appointment and an address that appears doesn't exist. In all - from the phone conversation to the driving around looking for this house I wasted about two hours of time simply trying to go to an appointment. From my time in the Diamond Cetified directory (3 years) to BBB to Angies list I have never gotten a negative review. Just wanted to tell my side of the story."

Hugh was very responsive during his visit to review the project. He got back to me quickly with the estimate and was willing to complete the work within my required time frame. His pricing was very competitive and he and his partner worked quickly and efficiently. Some of the items to be installed were not delivered by the start of the project, and they were willing to come back to complete the project when these items were ready.

The project progressed from start to finish in a logical and organized manner. Initially, our ideas and needs were helped along by the experience and creativity of HW Construction and also by the architect and designer we used. We always felt that our thoughts were listened to and carefully blended with what was possible to be constructed at a fair and reasonable price. Having work done at one's home can be very stressful. HW Construction paid close attention to keeping a safe, clean and organized construction area that made consistent progress on a daily basis.

He was responsive, gave recommendations and was very competitively priced. We scheduled the install they arrived on time and completed the project on time. The windows look great and work really well. There is no more air coming in from the sides cooling down my rooms. I was also impressed they cleaned up after themselves and didn't leave a mess in the rooms. I would highly recommend this construction company based on my outstanding experience.
