I'm realy sorry it's taken me over a year to write this review, because Dave did an amazing job with our remodel, and fought with the insurance company to get adequate payment to do the job right. When he did the estimate, Dave showed us a portfolio of his work, including some stunning work in high-end homes (we almost wondered if he'd take this job in our humble townhouse!). As soon as he started looking around the damaged bathroom, he asked if we'd like a light above the laundry area. We'd never thought of that, but it has made a HUGE difference in the year-plus since the remodel was finished! My 73-year-old mother was coming to visit for Christmas, so he came over and installed the toilet we'd bought in our plywood bathroom before the job started, so that my mom wouldn't have to go upstairs for a bathroom. He recommended local tile and moulding vendors, and met us at the moulding vendor to select baseboards and other mouldings. The job itself took about 3 weeks. Dave and his helper were meticulous about covering floors outside the work area and using plastic sheeting to keep dust in the work area, even though we moved out with our small children while the work was being done. He suggested a couple of small change orders as he worked, like replacing the water line to our refrigerator with an easier-to-maintain one, and upgrading the electrical connection to the dishwasher to something that met code. He has us check the alignment of the tiles before the installed them. Every detail of the work was meticulous. Our downstairs entry hall/closet/bathroom area has a million turns and corners, and every single one has beautifully cut and joined baseboard. He did multiple coats of paint in each area to make the color really pop. And after they re-installed all of our kitchen appliances on the new floor, our stove was level for the first time since the Sears guys installed it (badly). Throughout the project, Dave explained how each item was priced, asked for our input, communicated clearly with us, and just did everything with the utmost attention to detail. The next time we do a large remodeling project (and we have several to do), we will be responsible and get multiple bids. But it's hard to see how anyone will be able to compete with Dave.
