We highly recommend Cerletti & Kennedy for the Earthquake Bolt & Brace (EBB) work done on our home in Pittsburg, California, in September 2024. If our experience is any indication of the quality of their work, we can also highly recommend them for any other construction work you may need. Once our EBB application was approved, I endeavored to get a good range of quotes: I received seven quotes from different companies, even though only three were required. There was one company that stood out from the rest, providing comprehensive information on the materials to be used as well as the installation process. Matt Kennedy also spent a fair amount of time on the phone with me, explaining exactly what the work entailed. Happily, their quote came in under the amount allotted by EBB. What really cinched the deal for me was that I didn’t have to come up with any money up front for the permits or inspections. Cerletti & Kennedy handled everything for us. To top that, the two-man crew they sent out were two of the nicest workers I’ve encountered. They were efficient, neat, and cleaned up at the end of each work day, accomplishing the whole job in less than a week. No stress, no problems; just peace of mind. Simply put, a job well-executed. Thank you, Cerletti & Kennedy!

Outstanding quality and service from C&K. The quote process was easy and friendly. The plans for the deck rebuild were thorough and they completely handled getting the permits and approvals from the city. Their workers were pleasant and respectful and highly skilled. Everyone in the neighborhood has commented at how beautiful the deck now is. I cannot wait to enjoy my new deck! I highly recommend Cerletti & Kennedy, and would definitely use them again for any work you need to be sure it will done correctly, with safety and beauty in mind.

Cerletti and Kennedy are the great balance of design-creativity and project management time/cost execution. Their kitchen design team came up with solutions to design challenges like maximizing storage in a small space while keeping it accessible through close partnering with suppliers. On the build side, the project moved steadily to completion with regular updates without me having to ask. The inevitable hiccups were brought to my attention right away and addressed usually within a few days. Most important to me was the craftsmanship and attention to fine detail of the construction team. Kitchen projects are stress inducing but C&K understood that and their experience helped keep things moving forward.

They were excellent and Ruben was great. Always got right to work when he arrived and if there were any questions, he offered many suggestions. Cleaned up at the end of the day. The work turned out excellent and both me and my husband are VERY happy with the outcome. A HUGE THANK YOU!!!

Cerletti and Kennedy did our kitchen remodel in July 2022. The renovation took about four months. A fireplace was removed which opened up much more space for the kitchen and living room. The structural beam issue was addressed extremely well with their engineers. We are delighted with the new layout. Everyone, including their subcontractors, from the demo to the finishing, was very knowledgeable and professional. They cleaned up at the end of each day. Robert provided the best price among the other bids we received. Matt executed an excellent design layout that was very functional and classic. He even included a walk-in pantry that I never thought would fit into our small space. Matt and Reuben have great eyes for details. Matt took the time to review the punch list with me on the final walkthrough. I would highly recommend this company.

Matt and Robert were a dream come true - we had a pipe burst right when COVID hit last February and couldn't get any contractors to even come give us an estimate. The ones that did come bid very high and refused to deal with our insurance company. Matt and Robert have so much experience and made the process so easy. Their crew was fantastic, on time, respectful and highly professional. We were able to remodel our family room in addition to our kitchen and they are both beautiful! We will for sure use them for any future home improvement needs!

I hired Cerletti & Kennedy for the earthquake retrofit of my home and garage. Matt Kennedy really knows his business and I was easily able to understand his explanations. The crew were all neat and efficient. I wish I had known about this company years earlier!

The job went well they're very professional company. They were on time. Clean. I like their platform of design and build. I saved money on the architect that way. They're easy to work with. And their prices were good. They took care of all the permit work plans and the planning department as well as all the inspections. I would highly recommend this company. First off, anything we asked to fix, they did. Outstanding work on the new floor, baseboards and countertop.. By mistake, they installed a new countertop for the divider between our kitchen and family room, for which they ate the costs and labor. The new backsplash looks great but we had to have them clean up some sloppy spots. The most problematic work was on a new cabinet (installed where a wall oven used to be). The LED lights we asked for were installed unevenly, and the supports for the pull out drawers were done in unfinished 2x4s! Very amateurish looking. BUT, when we pointed this out, it got fixed immediately. Responses with Anthony, the foreman of the subcontractors, was immediate. Would we hire them again? In a heartbeat! They will be the first people we call for the new flooring we want to go into our bathrooms.

The price of the job was fair and the work quality was good but not great. They provided very little help in the design and helping pick out materials for the job. All of it was left up to my wife and myself, even thou they stated at the offset that they could help in this area. They also said the total job would only take 3-4 weeks and ended up taking 8 weeks if you count the final cleanup of trash and materials. Communication between client and contractor was weak. In most cases, the contractor would only notify me a day or two ahead when a worker will show up and there could be gaps of 3 or 4 days before I got a call. I would have to call him to fine out what the next schedule work would be. It is hard to plan your day not knowing when they would show up to work on the project. They also push customers to buy pr-fab counter tops because it easier and quickier to fabricate and cut down remodeling time, but I found out it not necessarily in the best interest of the client. The prefab size they recommended did not fit one side of my cabinets and had to buy an oversize piece which cost me 33% more than if I just bought a large slab counter top and had it cut to fit. The estimate of the work and cost is very general and does not give a complete detail of the work involves and the actual hours to finish a specific job. All payments were based on the general estimate and not on any specific detail billing for the payment. I only accepted this method only because I had remodeling work done before and know roughly what cost run. If I was a first timer in remodeling, I might not be so trusting. I do believe that the counter top company which they use on a regular basis is only average. I had a request to clean up the seams where the counter top was glue because it was slightly uneven, the company owner came out and said it was good enough to meet industry standards. What in the **** does that mean? I think a company in the business would want to better then standard and do an excellent job and not just an acceptable job. I didn't want to argue with the guy, so I let it go. The work in fine but the the paper work and billing is weak. Lack of paper trail made it hard for them to figure out how much was paid and what was owed. near they end of the project the contractor asked for my final payment when in fact I actually paid it a week before. The contract is a standard form which is not necessary cover all the work to be done and when installment payments a re to be made. Paper work is not their strong point and kind of a shame for a company that's been in business 20+ years.
