About us
Hansink construction specializes in single family homes. Quality and integrity are paramount. The following is what to expect when using our team. Our shop is located in Vista, so we are always close. We are a group of highly skilled craftsmen. We will always be on time. We will always work full days, and weekends if the job requires it. We are a non smoking group and use clean language. I am an Eagle Scout and we honor those values. I have 6 children and 3 dogs of my own, so we absolutely understand how to work around situations involving pets, kids, and working around families that choose to live in the homes as the work is being performed. We have been together for years. We work like a well oiled machine. We are professional but friendly as well. We make it our goal to exceed the expectations of our clients, and we love what we do. All jobs require a deposit. Then we follow a previously arranged payment plan. It also depends on the magnitude of the job. Our success is based on two simple things that you love our work and you enjoy our presence during the process.

Steve was on the job immediately, and personally there every day. I live in San Diego county and my Mothers house is in Orange County. As a result I could not monitor the job every day. I soon found out that I did not need to, Steve was on the job every day making progress. I can remember one day I went to do a surprise drop-in and see how things were going. Steve was under the house in the crawl space, (Steve is not a small man!) and soldering pipes for the new kitchen faucet. He is amazing! My cousin who lives next to my Mother would watch the construction project and once commented," Steve can do everything!" She eventually hired him to do work for her also.
During this time Mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Steve was aware of this and was considerate of the situation and was always concerned about my Mothers condition and well being. I think she adopted Steve and his crew, and considered them family. Steve made sure she always was able to cook for herself even though the kitchen was torn apart. Some might think that the construction project would have been an additional stress on her, but I think it was a distraction which gave her hope that one day she would have her dream kitchen.
Steve is all about quality work. If you want less than great quality he is not your man. He is responsive to changes in the project and fair with pricing of any add-ons. He mentioned that our outside faucet was leaking and it need to be fixed. He did it with out a charge! He is that kind of a guy, grateful to work for you, and show his gratitude with his skills.
The kitchen came out beautiful, with maple cabinets, granite counters, and top of the line appliances. My Mother was in love with her new kitchen and couldn't believe how perfect it was. Steve was able to give her, her dream before passing. it was the one bright spot in a difficult time for her and our family. Needless to say Steve went on to do other projects for our family including rebuilding a deck, building a new fence, and many other upgrades to the property. If you want great quality at a fair price, hire Hansink Construction.
That's why we had him do the back half of our home this year. We were so happy with his work four years ago that we began planning to have Steve do this second phase as soon as we could rebuild our cash reserves. Steve is so pleasant to have around that the only disappointment we felt four years ago was that he would no longer have him around every day after he finished. (We'd adopt him if we could :-)
We couldn't give a person a higher recommendation than Steve. He not only did what we wanted done, but he has the skill and creativeness to enhance the appearance and utility of whatever one needs done. Did we spend more than originally anticipated? Yes (embracing the enhancements he showed us that could be done). But the next question you should ask is, do we have buyer's remorse? Quite the contrary. We wouldn't have had Steve back for the second round if we hadn't been more than pleased with his ideas and the results of his work the first time.
By the way, Steve's second love is plants - specifically cycads, exotic palms, etc. He runs a nursery thereof. Besides remodeling the back half of the home, we had him landscape the property. It's beautiful and will require about a quarter of the water we had been using.
If you are looking for someone to get a simple job done as cheaply as possible, Steve would be overkill - you really don't need his skills. But if you are looking for someone who will be a pleasure to work with, is highly skilled, does extremely high quality work, and if you (like we) want someone who has the creative ideas you may lack to not merely get the work done, but enhance its value to you and who will leave you very happy, hire Steve!
When Steve was building my room addition, there were so many neighbors flocking around my house to watch his work that I put up a "I love my Contractor!" sign with his telephone number on it! Even the city inspectors who came periodically to the property were impressed by his work! It was so wonderful having him around because he could fix anything; he and his workers do outstanding work.
I was so pleased with Steve?s work that four of my friends used Steve and his company the following year. He did a complete top to bottom house remodel for one friend; an entire first floor-- including the kitchen and laundry room-- remodel for another; a master bedroom suite remodel for a third friend, and a high end kitchen remodel for the fourth.
One of these friends was newly widowed; Steve was very careful to listen to her and to build exactly what she wanted. She was most grateful for all his extra attention and efforts in building her a spectacular "Home and Garden" kitchen. All these neighbors and friends are most grateful for my recommendation of Steve!
Steve came back last summer to remodel my master bathroom. He did a beautiful job building the cabinets and installing a beautifully designed tile floor and shower. He also pushed out the bathroom wall, and put in a vanity. When I am taking a tub or a shower, I feel like I am in an expensive hotel! I am very happy with his work.
I highly recommend Steve Hansink; he is extremely professional, conscientious, knowledgeable, creative and friendly.
